REACTION PAPER ON THE MOORING OPERATION VIDEO

Based on the video that I watch and in my experience at onboard ship mooring operation is the most
dangerous job in the ship. If the officer is lack of knowledge and don’t have a present of mind the crew
members are maybe in danger. However based in video he teaches the basic component and parts of
mooring arrangement. Such as the pins should be appropriately positioned, withdraw the stuff when the
break is being used, Lock in charge of the winches should be appropriately positioned, and the stock of
the water driven should be shut to maintain a strategic distance from compressed lines that may cause
spills, and finally the speed regulator should be utilized with alert. With regards to utilizing spare/extra
securing ropes in the bitts do a two zero first and followed a few figure of eight and another zero to bolt
the rope. In securing arrangement make utilize the legitimate roller to keep up the arrangement of the
rope and evade pointless pressure. Furthermore, finally, put rat guard watches in securing ropes to stay
away from rats installed ships. Also the video shows the proper procedure of a safety conducting
mooring operation such as proper split of rope in winch make sure that the rope is not overlap it can
cause stock when the rope is overlap in my experience in the video he said that safety first.
