Definition of Style:
Styles are set of predefined formatting already defined in style gallery or can be created by
user. The set of commands can be font color, size, font names etc. Documentation software
has its own gallery of inbuilt styles. Its just a drag and drop facility to apply frequently used
formatting in document.

User can find styles gallery on Home tab in MS Word 2013 in Styles group.
Applying Style in MS Word 2013
Step 1. Select the text on which an existing style is required.
Step 2. Click on Home tab and Choose desired style from styles group.
Creating styles in MS Word 2013
Step 1. Click on Styles dialog box launcher (Refer fig. 1.1) to open Styles drop down menu.
Step 2. Click on New Style button as shown in fig. 1.1.
Step 3. New window appears with “Create New Style From Formatting” title. Now type
desired name in Name box and choose desired formatting from the given options for new
style.
Step 4. When all formatting options has been got selected then check the preview and click on
OK button.
Step 5. A new style will appear on styles gallery.
Load style from template or another document
MS Word (create and apply styles in the document)
Step 1. Click on Styles dialog box launcher (Refer fig. 1.1) to open Styles drop down menu.
Step 2. Click on manage styles button, (3rd button from New Style Button) in drop down.
Step 3. Click on Import/Export button and Select document template.
Step 4. Click on close button when finished.
