Objectives: Students will be able to practise first conditional and use it correctly and effectively.
Skills :To develop the skills of reading for gist and reading for details in a holiday brochure.
Grammar :To understand the use of first conditional statements in an athentic context.
Materials , Timing
Warm up The teacher greets the class and sets the mood for the lesson and topic 2 minutes
Warm Up The teacher asks to students about their holiday
experiences and preferences . Smart Screen, pictures
Presentation The teacher shows some example pictures Related to accommodation
of accommodation types and (hotel,camp etc.) and waits for the 3 minutes
answers
Presentation The teacher prepares the students for the target text. 2 minutes
The teacher gives information about the text that the students will
be reading
The teacher shows the images of eco yurts and the students 5 minutes
give a quick look at this text
The students will be let to preview the target text 5 minutes
and also to preview the images related to text
After the first reading the students will be practising
the first conditional rules by multiple choice questions 10 minutes
(The teachers reminds the rules of first conditional )
The teacher asks the students to read the text again and answer the 10 minutes
questions and request them to do the vocabulary exercise
Practise The teacher hands out the first conditional exercise 5 minutes
Using the first conditional sentence ,the students will have to state 5 minutes
Sentences such as ‘’If I stay in this eco yurts, I will take my
sunglasses with me , I will go there with my cousine….
Every student must give his own answer
