United Breweries Limited Management Trainee Program is designed to
prepare future leaders. It grooms its management trainees through a
robust & guided eleven months “Management Trainee Development
Program”. To find the suitable candidates and on board them, UBL visits
several Tier 1 institutes every year.
During the eleven months, our Management Trainees are exposed to
various functions (such as Sales, Marketing, and CSR), roles across different
geographies which enables them to learn about the business as well as the
organisation while being on the job.

This leads trainees through an elaborate process of understanding point-of-


sales complexities, distribution channels, excise issues related to the beer
industry, branding, consumer preferences, events, CSR interventions and
Job description (for each role) their impact etc.
Our projects are typically ‘live’ in nature, and a lot is demanded in terms of
new insights wrt consumers & products.
The program also has a structured process of making presentations to the
top management on the field work, the findings and the recommendations.
It provides our management trainees an opportunity to interact with the
senior colleagues and management team.
After the training period is over the competence of the trainees is gauged
through a rigorous performance appraisal system. The trainee can be
posted anywhere in India, as an Area Sales Manager subject to the existing
vacancies, the potential of the candidate and other business requirements.
Please note that there are strong linkages between the Marketing and Sales
Functions, and rotation in between the functions is a possibility.
