Data Protection -Undertaking
Introduction:
Simplilearn is strongly committed to protecting personal data. During our business operations, we often
have access to personal information related to customers and others. While protecting this information is
a legal requirement, for us at Simplilearn, data privacy has always been a matter of trust. We respect the
personal information of our customers and others. Protecting their privacy is very important to us.
Meaning of Personal Data:
Personal data means data which can lead to the direct or indirect identification of a person, in particular
by reference to an identification number (e.g. social security number or AADHAR) or one or more factors
specific to his physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity (e.g. name, date of
birth, biometrics data, personal or work email id, personal or work address, age, marital status, phone
number, fingerprints, username, voice recording, password, sexual orientation, nationality, photographs,
contact list etc. in short, any information which can be used to identify an individual constitutes personal
data.
Responsibility to Protect Personal Data:
All employees of Simplilearn have a responsibility to ensure that personal data is secure and fairly
processed within the scope of policies of Simplilearn and statutory requirements. This covers data in
electronic and paper format as well as oral discussion. Breaching data protection can be potentially serious
for employees involved as well as hugely detrimental for the organisation.
In the course of employment employees will have access to confidential information personal data relating
to other employees, customers, vendors, trainers of Simplilearn. The disclosure of such information to an
unauthorised person or the use of the information to obtain personal advantage would be regarded as a
fundamental breach of employment contract with Simplilearn resulting in disciplinary action.
Employee Undertaking:
As an employee of Simplilearn I hereby undertake to:
1. Adhere to the principles outlined above, company policies, applicable laws and
guidelines provided from time to time.
2. Ensure personal data is kept securely and not disclosed orally or in writing, by accident
or otherwise, to unauthorised third parties.
3. Access and use personal data solely for legitimate business purposes and only if there
is need to know.
4. Not forward any personal data or other business information and documents to personal
email IDs or any online platform or public forum.
5. Report any loss of personal or other sensitive data immediately as a security incident at
dataprivacy@simplilearn.net
