Visible Thinking Routine

It is common for students to react to ideas too quickly, offering unsubstantiated viewpoints
and assertions. Visible Thinking routines encourage a measured and thoughtful process of
thinking by slowing down responses and ensuring that thoughts and questions are based on
what has been carefully observed.

Objective – To introduce a discursive writing topic through Visible Thinking

See- What do you see? Describe the picture


Think- What do you think about when you look at the picture?
Wonder- What does this picture make you wonder? (go beyond the picture)
