Dear Dean Yap,

Good day!

I Ana Uy, writing this letter to appeal for readmission to Institute of Marine Biology, College of Fisheries
and Ocean Sciences, University of the Philippines. Last semester I was not able to enroll due to family
problem. I would like to request that my suspension be lifted and that I be readmitted for this semester.
Thank you for allowing and giving me opportunity to explain my circumstances.

I accept full responsibility for my sub-par academic performance and admit it was due to my poor judgment
as a result. Due to my father’s infidelity I suffered anxiety and depression. I erroneously assumed that I
would be able to carry my full load of course while facing that kind of burden. The problem was
compounded by my failure to inform my thesis adviser when I realized I was having difficulties. I was very
distracted with the home situation and was unable to focus on my thesis.

My personal problems have been resolved. I already overcome the situation and learned my lesson from the
last semester. If readmitted I will give my full effort to perform my thesis experiment. I hope you will give
me a second chance. Thank you for considering this appeal.
