SESSION – 05 SURAH 107 : AL-MA-‘OON

I. SPOKEN ARABIC: Use the three-step-procedure (3SP). Say the following: (1) remembering Allah;
(2) Seeking His protection ; (3) Asking forgives; (4) giving charity

‫ﷲ‬
ِ ‫ﺳﺒِﻴ ِﻞ ﺍ‬ ‫ ﻓِﻲ‬:۴ ،‫ﷲ‬
َ ‫ﺮ ﺍ‬ ‫ ِﻔ‬‫ﺘﻐ‬‫ ﹶﺃﺳ‬:۳ ،‫ﷲ‬
ِ ‫ﻮ ﹸﺫ ﺑِﺎ‬‫ ﹶﺃﻋ‬:۲ ، ‫ﺎ ﺍﹶﷲ‬‫ ﻳ‬:۱
In the path of Allah I seek the forgiveness of Allah I seek refuge in Allah O Allah

II. GRAMMAR: (i) Learn the past tense َِ ْ


ِ using TPI (For details on TPI for past tense,
see page xvii). (ii) The preposition َ‫ ل‬comes 1367 times attached with the following 7 pronouns (including
َ‫)ه‬. Note that prepositions may change their meanings when they come with a verb. Use TPI for this too.

Past Tense ‫ﺎﺿِﻲ‬‫ﻞ ﻣ‬‫ِﻓﻌ‬ for ... + ‫َﹶﻝ‬ No. Person

ِ ٰ‫ﻤ‬‫ﺣ‬‫ﷲ ﺍﻟﺮ‬
ِ ‫ ِﻢ ﺍ‬‫ ِﺑﺴ‬: ‫************************** ﺳﻮﺭﺓ ﺍﳌﺎﻋﻮﻥ‬

‫ﺑِﺎﻟ ِﺪّﻳ ِﻦ‬ ‫ﺏ‬


 ّ‫ﻳ ﹶﻜ ِﺬ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻱ‬ ‫ﺖ‬
 ‫ﺭﹶﺃﻳ‬ ‫ﹶﺃ‬

3. And does not

ِ ‫ ِﻜ‬‫ﺍﹾﻟ ِﻤﺴ‬ ‫ﺎ ِﻡ‬‫ﹶﻃﻌ‬ ٰ‫ﻋ ﹶﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﺤﺾ‬
 ‫ﻳ‬ ‫ﻭ ﹶﻻ‬
who pray So woe (of) the needy. (the) feeding And does not encourage
5. Who are heedless
of their prayers,
‫ﻫﻢ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻳ‬ (5) ‫ﻮ ﹶﻥ‬‫ﺎﻫ‬‫ﺳ‬ ‫ﻼِﺗ ِﻬﻢ‬
‫ﺻﹶ‬
 ‫ﻦ‬‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻫﻢ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻳ‬ (4) ‫ﲔ‬
 ّ‫ﺼ ِﻠ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ِﻟّ ﹾﻠ‬
6. Who do good deeds [they] Who (are) heedless, their prayers of [they] Who to those who pray
