Everyone should be aware that “A sinful activity cannot be counteracted by a pious activity”.
Undergoing atonement without control over the senses is useless just like “elephant bathing”.
Experience is gathered by hearing and seeing.
Intelligent learn by hearing from sastras or scriptures regarding what is to be done and what is not? And
act accordingly to refrain from doing bad things.
Unintelligent learn by experiencing the results of his actions based on which he learn what is good and
what is bad? And refrain from doing bad things.
Foolish people inspite of experiencing bad results, will again commit the same mistakes and subjected to
repeated bad results.
Real atonement is awakening of our dormant Krsna Consciousness.
Real atonement involves coming to real Knowledge of our real position with respect to the supreme
Lord by following scriptural rules and regulations, practicing regulative principles, austerity, celibacy,
truthfulness, controlling mind and senses, nava vidha bhakti, associating with devotees, acting according
to spiritual master instructions etc.
Engagement in the devotional service of the Lord is the life and soul of the living entity. It is the desired
goal and supreme perfection of human life.
One has to be confident that all activities of other than devotional service – such as mental speculation,
fruitive work or mystic endeavor – will never yield any enduring benefit.
Complete confidence in the path of devotional service will enable one to attain his desired goal, but
attempting to follow other paths will only succeed in making one restless.
The successful execution of Krsna conscious activities require both patience and confidence. One should
not be impatient and doubtful in Krsna consciousness activities.
In devotional service one has to surrender to Lord Krsna and be confident that Lord Krsna will surely
protect and help in the successful execution of devotional service (Avasya Rakshibe Krsna)
No one should criticize the bodily defects of a pure devotee. If there are such defects exist, they should
be overlooked.
Unless one is actually a devotee, he cannot see another devotee perfectly.
Devotees should be not be seen from materialistic point of view. Body of pure devotee cannot be
polluted. What should be taken into account is their devotional service and pure service to Supreme
Lord.
Being situated in his original Krsna conscious position, a pure devotee does not identify with the
material body.
If we consider the bodily defects of a vaishnava, we should understand that we are committing an
offense at the lotus feet of the vaishnava. An offense at the lotus feet of a vaishnava is very serious.
One should therefore avoid observing a pure devotee externally, but should try to see the internal
features and understand how he is engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord.
A person cannot derive any spiritual benefit when he offends the lotus feet of a Vaiṣhṇava.
(Jivera svarupa haya – Krsnera nitya dasa) The normal condition of a human being is to remain as an
eternal servant of the Lord.
The holy name of the Lord Krsna, His quality, Pastimes and so forth are all of the nature of absolute
truth, beauty and bliss. Naturally they are very sweet like sugar candy.
When human beings are in shelter of Durashraya (world of Maya), they tend to forget Krsna due to
being attracted by the external features of Krsna’s maya energy. This ignorance (Avidya) twists one’s
ability to relish the transcendentally palatable name, quality, form and pastimes of Krsna.
Chanting holy name and hearing Krsna katha, one’s ignorance will be destroyed and his tongue shall be
enabled to taste the sweetness of the transcendental nature of Krsna.
Avidya, a misconception about one’s spiritual identity, provides the foundation for ahankara or false ego
within the heart. The real disease is in the heart.
If the mind and conscious is cleansed, a person cannot be impacted/harmed by material disease.
To cleanse mind and the heart from all misconceptions, one should take to this chanting of the Hare
Krsna Maha mantra.
This is both easy and beneficial. By chanting the holy name of the lord, one is immediately freed from
the blazing fire of material existence.
As soon as one is liberated from the blazing fire of material existence, he can relish the taste of the
transcendental life.
The conclusion is that in order to get freed from the material disease, one must take to the chanting of
the Hare Krsna mantra.
