DR APJ Abdul Kalam

APJ Abdul Kalam was born in 1931 in Rameswaram, India to a poor family. He went on to become a scientist and played a key role in developing key defense programs for India including its ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs. As president of India from 2002 to 2007, he was known as the "Missile Man of India" for his work on India's missile projects.
