Faculty of Engineering and Technology: Sessional Test 1-February 2020

This document appears to be a test for a class on internal combustion engines. It contains instructions for the test, which is worth a maximum of 30 marks and allows 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. Question 1 is compulsory and contains 5 short questions worth 2.5 marks each. Students must then attempt any two of the three remaining questions, which are longer, multi-part questions worth 10 marks each. The questions cover topics like air standard cycles, efficiency definitions, factors that affect knocking in gasoline engines, definitions of terms like stoichiometric mixture and delay period. Later questions involve calculations related to a diesel engine's performance and fuel consumption or discussions of valve timing diagrams and combustion stages.
