CFML-1 – CHARACTER FORMATION NATIONALISM AND PATRIOTISM
1st Semester, AY 2021 – 2022
PHILOSOPHY

PROGRAM GOALS
The BS Criminology graduates are expected to become globally competent, innovative, socially and ethically responsible in their field of specialization that
focuses on research and inquiry on the nature, causes, treatment or punishment of criminal behavior and how criminal justice agencies function and respond to crime,
criminals and victims prevention, law enforcement, scientific crime detection, correctional administration public safety and allied fields. Moreover, they are also expected
to foster the values of leadership, integrity, accountability, and responsibility while serving their fellowmen, community, and country.
INSTITUTIONAL INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims and offenders to include deviant behavior;
Ensure offenders’ welfare and development for their re-integration to the community. Internalize the concepts of human rights and victim welfare;
Demonstrate, competence and broad understanding in law enforcement administration, public safety and criminal justice;
Demonstrate the ability to make positive contribution to society through the generation, integration, development and organizing creative work in their
fields of specialization. Utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and detection of crime;
Collaborate critically and constructively in the local – global inclusive development exercising engaged citizenship through performing socio-civic
responsibilities, apply the principles and jurisprudence of criminal law, evidence and criminal procedure.
Ensure offenders' welfare and development for their re-integration to the community.

Course Description :
The course covers the study of the concepts and principles of nationalism and patriotism specifically the application of knowledge to law
enforcement administration, public safety and criminal justice and embodied in the applicable law and jurisprudence.
