Components of Personality

The document discusses several theories related to personality development and education. It describes how personality is shaped by physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics as well as one's environment and heredity. It also discusses how socialization influences cultural practices and self-image. The ecological systems theory and cognitive development theory of Jean Piaget are summarized as explaining how social relationships and interactions with the environment influence growth. The purpose of curriculum assessment is to evaluate student learning and determine effective teaching methods. Learner-centered principles should consider students' needs, skills, attitudes, and culture.

COMPONENTS OF PERSONALITY

What I learn in this topic about personality is that it is the sum

total of the physical, mental, emotional and social
characteristics of an individual. A well rounded person has a
rich personality and has varied interests, tastes and purposes.
It is a product of socialization, arises from the result of the
interplay of various variables, environment and heredity plays
an important factor that shapes the development of an
individual personality. For every action perceived by the child
from another, he gives meaning and interprets it according to
his own experiences.
The different social process of cooperation, competition, conflict
and differentiation and other social experiences in the social
environment, will certainly exert a tremendous influence upon
the individual.
As a future educator I truly realized that the primarily concerned
with an individual’s perception of himself and his role in relation
with others as well as his attitudes towards himself and the
people around him, that socialization will greatly affects the
entire cultural practices of society and it also shapes the
images that we value and hold to ourselves. It is an
oversimplification to draw a sharp line between the physical
and the social aspects of human development.

Every society has unique behavior patterns the behavior of the

members of a society is primarily regulated by culture through
its various mechanism, that have far reaching effect to the
people interpreting a social act as relatively easy. A group of
people who share a common culture or one that is made up of
individuals who are interacting on the basis shared beliefs,
customs, traditions, and activities.
The ultimate goal of education is the effective participation of
each individual in the total process of social interaction in the
society, all of the social behavior is learned and through the
lifelong process, the individual develops in interaction with the
common values, norms and expectation of society even his
actions will be structured and defined by his society.
In as much as society is undergoing change, only time will tell
that in a social system it has the strength, the capability and
the flexibility required to cope with the pressures and problems
brought about by the impact of industrialization and
modernization.

ECOLOGICAL THEORY
( Eurie Bronfenbrenner)

Ecological systems theory discuss about the child’s

development affected by their social relationships and the world
around them and how the inherent qualities of a child and his
environment interact to influence how he will grow and develop,
family, friend, peers and belief had a greatest impact of the
development of a person. There is a total framework or totality
in which human beings engage in social relations. It is regarded
as a social environment comprising the aggregate total of
people of different backgrounds aspirations, abilities and
personalities. Human beings are born into a set of relationships
that greatly influence their lives.
When a person does not know the meaning attached to the
action, he may have difficulty in in interacting with another or
with the group, it maybe observed that in some cases people of
different cultural background usually have difficulty in
understanding the behavior of others.
On my point of view the children should be surrounded with a
healthy environment and the family should be organized a
learning environment that is responsive to learners needs and
that promotes fairness among learners of various background.

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
(JEAN PIAGET)

In this theory jean piaget discussed that each child

development has a long term process that they need to enjoy
each stage, it focuses on development, rather than learning per
se, so it does not address learning of information or specific
behavior. As children interact with their environment, they go
through an astonishing amount of cognitive growth in a
relatively short period of time.
Jean piaget trying to point out and disagreed that intelligence
was a fixed trait, it occurs due to biological maturation and
interaction with the environment.
Let the children discover their skills, knowledge and
understanding from knowing nothing to understanding the world
let us consider their progressive building of learning skills to
enable children to process sensory information and eventually
evaluate, analyze, remember, make comparisons and
understand cause and effect.

PURPOSE OF CURRICULUM
ASSESSMENT

When we say curriculum it is an entire range of experiences,

undirected and directed, concerned with the unfolding the
abilities of the individual and it is a plan of action or written
document which include strategies for achieving desired goals
or ends.
Regarding the curriculum change we should consider the
learners, teachers, school leader, parents and community all of
them are needed in the curriculum implementation and the
success of it depends on it.We need to have an evaluation and
assessment of the curriculum because through this we will be
able to know if it is fully implemented and working if it contains
validity, usefulness learnability and feasibility. A good
curricularist should have a knowledge in implementing and
innovating the curriculum.
Summative assessment is important and plays a critical role in
the pupils learning outcome so that we will be able to evaluate
student learning skill in this process we will know what are the
approach and teaching method we should consider to attain
their level of learning.

LEARNER CENTERED
PSYCHOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES

To ensure that there is an effective teaching learning process

we have to consider the needs of the students, the subject
matter should be holistically organized, for the development of
learning activities, skills and attitude. It also develops the three
domains of learning namely: cognitive, affective and
psychomotor skills, and considers the cultural aspects of the
learners.
There should be a systematic process in order for us to know
the strength and weaknesses of the learner if they are doing
the right way and we can assess and guide them all throughout
the learning process.
I should consider the natures of the child interpersonal
experiences in relation to the structure and background of his
family that will surely influence the shaping of his personality
that will certainly exert a tremendous influence upon the
individual that each one of them cultivate the sense of social
responsibility, aware of his unique participation so that the
society can in turn, look after the common good and well- being
of the inhabitants.
