Subject: First Aid Kit Recommendations

The following is a list of equipment and supplies useful for packing a Team First Aid Kit.

Standard Supply List Pharmacy items (optional)

 Bandages, various sizes  NSAIDS in adult and child doses


 Gauze pads (acetaminophen, ibuprofen)
 Safety pins, large and medium  Antihistamines (diphenhydramine)
 Adhesive tape  Baby aspirin
 Duct tape  Hydrogen peroxide
 Elastic bandages (ace)  Licorice tea bags, Black tea bags
 Trauma shears  Charcoal capsules (vegetarian)
 Tweezers  Epsom salts
 Needles, large sewing type or sterile  Laxative herbs and aids
 Magnifying glass  Medicine dropper
 Thermometer  Herbs: hot pepper, catnip (for tinctures)
 Blood pressure cuff  Arnica oil (for massage pain relief)
 Stethoscope  Aloe Vera leaves/Gel
 Basin, both 2-3 gallon and flat 1 gallon  Rubbing alcohol (for tinctures)
 Hot water bottle  Tourniquets
 Alcohol, isopropyl/ Iodine solution for
cleansing
 Cooling pads (instant ice pack) Most of these items have a long shelf life, and in
 Penlight the case of sterile bandages, can be used after
 Splints various sizes outdated as a clean dressing (no longer sterile).
 Finger Splint/Tongue depressor
 Lighter/matches The team kit needs to be checked for its
 Sterile water for eye wash, dressing completeness both biannually and before any
anticipated training. At the end of a training event,
 Ear syringe (optional)
the kits should be stocked again.
