Lesson 3
PRODUCTION PROCESSES IN ART
PRE-DISCUSSION
How does a sculpture was made? Did it undergo a step by step process before
it was made?
Art is viewed as a creative journey. It has to pass through a process by which it
was made, rather than on its form.
What to expect:
1. Identify the processes in art
2. Make a flow chart of an example of a process in art
3. Gives value to the process made in creating an art
LESSON OUTLINE
The process in art refers to the process of the formation of art. It is concerned
with the actual doing and how actions can be defined as an actual work of art. It can be
the process of bringing a song or musical work to life or honing that work to life.
What are the processes in art?
The processes involved in art are the production, reproduction and post production.
What is production?
Production is a word with many meanings. It can refer to the making of
something, or to a final product. Production is the heart of making art. It is also the
action or manufacturing from components or raw materials or the process of being
manufactured.
Another process is the reproduction. A reproduction is a copy of another work of art. It
could be a copy of painting, drawing or of an original print. Some are of high quality and
are almost identical to the original.
And the last process is the post production. Post production refers to organizing, cutting,
coloring and editing the footage captured in production.
It is also considered as the “final touches”.
