Dear Chair DeBeaugrine:
Itis with mixed feelings that | am offering my resignation as Executive Director of the Florida
fh-Related Injury Compensation Association (NICA). If agreed by the Board, my final day
will be January 4, 2022, but I plan to take leave as soon as a new Interim or Executive Dit
appointed by the Board. I will be available to overlap or help manage day to day acti
assist in transition until January if'it would be helpful. 1 plan to cooperate and be available to
assist the organization in any way that would be beneficial.
J am advising you of this now so that you have time to appoint a search committee if that is the
direction that works best, of otherwise identify a candidate to replace me. We had planned to set
another meeting in October to approve the operational documents and the annual report that is
required to be presented to the Legislature on November 1, 2021. The Board could also vote for
an interim or new Executive Director at that meeting.
want to thank you for your guidance as Interim Chair and let you know I believe that with you
and the other members of the Board who have been recently appointed, NICA is poised to
become a better and stronger organization,
[ feel grateful and honored to have been able to serve the very special families that I have worked
with over the years, Many have been my heroes and taught me what real strength and character
are. I have been blessed to work with staff who care very much for the families they serve, work
hard, and will continue to serve into the future.
I wish you and the new NICA Board of Directors great success. You hold the future.
