Responsibilities:
§ Attends IFSW Executive Committee and General Meetings representing
h/her region, and contributes to the accomplishment of the IFSW Action
Plan goals at both the global and regional level.
§ Maintains an active commitment to the global goals of the IFSW as well
as regional goals
§ Supports the work of the Vice President regarding activities related to the
development of Regional structure and operations, consistent with the
IFSW Constitution and By Laws.
§ Communicates and works with the Vice President for the Region on a regular basis

member country activities with respect to:
o Establishment of practices which encourage/enable ethical social
work behavior;
o Human rights activities;
o Promotion of excellence in social work education.
§ Encourages and supports communication, exchange, collaboration and meetings
between member organizations in the region.
§ In consultation with the Regional Vice President acts as the IFSW representative
in Regional political and professional events; and also networks with regional
institutions.
§ Works with the Regional Vice President to assess, or guide the assessment, of
applications for membership in IFSW, in accordance with the IFSW Constitution
and By Laws.
§ Chairs IFSW Committees as required by the Executive Committee
§ In accordance with the IFSW Action Plan and the IFSW Regional Plans prepares
report on committee activities for the IFSW Executive and General meetings
§ Accepts fiduciary responsibility for the operations of IFSW in accordance with
governance principles
§ Supports the planning of regional conferences or workshops, in close co-operation
with the Vice President and Secretary General.
§ Carries out other tasks or projects which may be requested by the President from
time to time
