Department of Chemical Pathology: Lipid Profile

The patient, Dr. Ishtiaq, age 42, male, had a lipid profile test done. The results showed elevated triglycerides at 278 mg/dL, total cholesterol at 152 mg/dL, LDL cholesterol at 86 mg/dL, and non-HDL cholesterol at 110 mg/dL. HDL cholesterol was normal at 42 mg/dL. The results indicate high triglycerides and borderline high total and LDL cholesterol, suggesting the patient is at increased risk of heart disease and should follow lifestyle changes such as a lower calorie diet and exercise under physician supervision.
