Group project: 40 % weightage
Identify an industry of your choice, select a company within that industry and then select any product
of that firm. (Submit your selection of industry to the class CR by 20 st August 2021.)
[Note: Sec C group 1 already assigned by me is telecom industry.]
Objective:
1. Analyse the industry in terms of HHI index. Define the market in which the firms are playing in
that market. How many major competitors are there? Analyse their behaviour over last 5
years in the industry.
2. Select the best firm in terms of market share (latest year) and analyse the product lines with
the prices.
3. Select any one product out of it. Do in-depth analysis for ups and down of the sales quantity
data for last 10 years. i.e. a descriptive analysis (by considering all the environmental factors
like government policies, consumer taste and preference, competition, substitute or
complementary products effect etc,)
4. Forecast sales of that product for 2025.
5. Study a consumer purchase behaviour analysis of the product (a video on Behavirol analysis
by applying non-verbal communication)
The students are expected to take the clues from the class and then go through relevant resources
(books, journals, magazines, newspapers etc.) and then prepare for their presentations. The rough
guidelines for the presentations are as follows:
1. Each group would be presenting for 20 Min.
2. Q&A session will be there for 5 min
3. Each member of the group has to present at least for 2 mins.
Note:
First task will be: First you have to do the selection of industry, then firm and then product.
Second task will be: Start to make a video on consumer behaviour while procuring that product.
Slowly as class will proceed point no 3 and 4 you can analyse. At the end you have to do 2 and then 1
point.
