RRL

The document discusses the impact of student achievement test results on schools and factors that influence student performance. It addresses how students can achieve low test scores even when teachers provide instruction, and possible consequences students may face from consistently low results. Specifically: 1) Student performance directly impacts schools and is linked to social and economic development. Poor performance is a global issue. 2) Multiple factors can influence student scores, including learning environment, teaching methods, teacher-student relationships, and student characteristics. 3) Low grades may cause students to increase effort to access higher education, but should not replace learning as the goal. Constructive feedback is important to help students become lifelong learners.

Subtopic #1 What is the impact that affects the school about the students Achievement test result?

Introduction

School, colleges and universities have no worth without student. Students are most essential asset for
any educational institute. The social and economic development of the country is directly linked with
student academic performance. Jazmawi (2008) suggested that the problem of poor academic
achievement is a global problem that any community is hardly devoid of it, that twenty students of
every hundred have weakness in the academic achievement, he make sure of this ratio by taking
random samples from different communities.

Body

The students’ performance (academic achievement) plays an important role in producing the best
quality graduates who will become great leader and manpower for the country thus responsible for the
country’s economic and social development (Ali et.al, 2009). Karemera (2003) found that
students'performance is significantly correlated with satisfaction with academic environment and the
facilities of library, computer lab and etc. in the institution. Robert & Sampson (2011), found that the
member of educational board will be educated and their impact on school is positive, for professional
development it is essential for student learning. Sternberg (1997) proposed that learning styles are at
least in part socialized, suggesting that they can, to some extent, be modified.

Conclusion

That's why Every classroom should have a well-educated, professional teacher, and school systems
should recruit, prepare, and retain teachers who are qualified to do the job (Shavelson et al., 2015).
Robert & Sampson (2011), found that the member of educational board will be educated and their

Subtopic #2. How can the students got a low Achievement test result while the teacher still keep on
teaching them every class hours ?

Introduction

As No Child Left Behind gets a makeover, it is under consideration to hold teacher’s accountable for
their students’ low performance. Nile (2006) pointed out that there is a weakness among the students
of the main stages in language skills, and confirms the reality of this weakness of students in key stages
of the delay in the mastery of reading and writing skills, as well as weaknesses in the skills of writing the
alphabet and calligraphy.
Body
Noble (2006), students’ academic accomplishments and activities, perceptions of their coping strategies
and positive attributions, and background characteristics (i.e., family income, parents’ level of education,
guidance from parents and number of negative situations in the home) were indirectly related to their
composite scores, through academic achievement in high school. Student’s low test scores are not solely
due to the teacher’s behavior (Garland, 2012). In fact, this research presents some factors that affecting
students' low academic achievement for instance, using traditional methods instead of using modern
teaching methods in teaching, as well as the poor relationships between the teachers and the students
that create a teaching environment lacking of respect which leads to the lack of students' acceptance of
the learning process on the whole (Zoubi,2015). Barakat & Harz Allah (2010) study addressed the
reasons for the low level of academic achievement in mathematics at Tulkarem schools and these
reasons are:
a. Health problems affect student achievement in Math
b. Behavioral problems affect the achievement of students in mathematics performance.

c. Lack of self desire to study may lead to students' low academic achievement in mathematics level.
d. Lack of a sense of belonging to the school can cause a sense of unconcerned to the study.
e. Teachers' lack the required knowledge of modern educational and psychological theories can lead to
students' poor academic performance.

Conclusion

Amitava Raychaudhuri, et. al., (July 2010), found that numerous studies have been done to identify
those factors which are affecting student’s academic performance. The students’ academic performance
depends on a number of socio-economic factors like students’ attendance in the class, family income,
mother’s and father’s education, teacher-student ratio, presence of trained teacher in school, sex of the
student, and distance of schools. Hijaz and Naqvi (2006) observed that there is a negative relationship
between the family income and students’ performance and they focus on the private colleges.

3. What are the possible things happen in students life when the students keep getting a low
Achievement test result?

Introduction

Grades, including evaluations by teachers, standardized test scores, and exam results, can affect student
behavior for at least three reasons. First, grades give students feedback on how well they master a
subject, and students may increase their effort if they do not understand the material as well as they
thought. Second, if grades provide students with information about the return on their effort, they may
update their perception of how much effort they should put into their education. Third, grades may
involve “high stakes” if they affect the student’s chances of accessing higher education programs or
getting a job. A student who has lower grades than required for the desired program may increase their
effort.

Body

Developing programs that embody respect, embed social skills, and promote inclusive classrooms can
assist in closing the achievement gap for students facing emotional and social challenges (Jensen, 2009).
All that said, as student stress levels rise and employers prioritize skills and experience over GPA, it is
important that grades do not eclipse learning as the end goal of education. By providing our students
with high-quality, constructive feedback, we can help them become learners with a passion for
knowledge that will serve them all their lives (Guest user, 2018).

Conclusion

We must aim for high achievement test because Academically successful adolescents have higher self-
esteem, have lower levels of depression and anxiety, are socially inclined, and are less likely to abuse
alcohol and engage in substance abuse. Positive self-esteem and self-confidence are critical factors in
commitment to academic success. Now a day you need a post-secondary education in order to get a job
(Reiger, 2011).
