The company’s Audit department responsibility is to evaluate the operational procedures and
mange risks it includes company internal controls which measure to overcome accounting
errors and minimize the possibility of fraud.

3.3 Marketing Strategies

They are not using marketing strategies directly because their workings are with LESCO
government likes department. Company sell their products straight to the companies and to
the government agencies likes LESCO, HESCO’s, SUNDER, RESCUE 1122, SUMMIT-
BANK and the many other companies are customers of them. They use horizontal integration
strategy to expand business in international level, they are expanding brand equity to their
new product line as they done in their four companies.

Moreover, company do private sales marketing, the strategies they apply is if the project is
completed in any place they build references and these reference later become customers.
Creative Group also sets marketing strategies from email, SMS, and media agencies. To rapid
increase in production which able to produce more revenue for company.

3.4 SWOT Analysis

3.4.1 Strengths
The main strength of creative group of companies is that they save a lot amount of electricity
and produce their own by which this reduces the overall expenses of the company, like in
head office the roof of it cover with solar panels. And moreover there all production units are
also on solar panels. This is the very big strength of company because when the variable cost
is reducing, it automatically reduces the prices of their production transformer, meters, solar
panels which gives competitive edge with competitors.

3.4.2 Weaknesses
The main weakness of the company is that the creative group, although doing great business
but they do not have brand name like their competitor “PEL” have in market. Company do a
lot of business but they don’t make any as such media campaign by which their business will
dropping the destiny to expand. If they do proper marketing and develop media campaigns
and advertise their products in ads like TV, radio, newspaper then they will more flexibility
develop for increasing profit ratio.

3.4.3 Opportunities
The main opportunity of Creative Group is that as we know Pakistan is developing country
and population is increasing day by day which means more houses, societies, and other arears
will develop in future. It means the company do bigger projects and manufacture their
products (transformers, energy meters, solar panels). As in future it will benefit for them as
more production means more revenue will have generated.

16 | P a g e
University of Central Punjab |
Creative Group |

3.4.4 Threats
The main threat of Creative Group is that in business power sector the creative group
competitor “PEL” is also doing and having it strong brand name rather than Creative Group.
The another threat is that Company system is slow to update transaction because of their
different departments, example: finance department signed the project permit then
management and sales department signed then other department should have signed after this
process the projects are finally started so this can little slow down the productivity. These
threats should have to resolve.

3.5 PESTEL Analysis

3.5.1 Political Factor
As our country is a developing country, it faces a lot of political issues due to government
instability. Due to the instability, the exploration and production of energy resources is
affected very much. As the government change the policies regarding to tax or any other
factor which affects the businesses in Pakistan its ultimately creates political issues like shift
in demand and supplies and prices of products which also is the cause of increase in wages.

3.5.2 Economic Factor

Pakistan is facing a lot of ups and down whenever it comes to economy which directly effects
the industry environment of our country. The current economic situation of Pakistan is not
stable as inflation rate and unemployment rate has increased from which the devaluation of
currency occurs. Due to this unstable condition, the GDP growth have decreased which have
affected every segment of business in the country.

3.5.3 Social Factor

As Pakistan is not stable politically and economically ultimately it will effect socially where
people will be enough price conscious and will look to purchase quality products in a
moderate or low price. People will have to look for the opportunity that indicate the best
industry environment which offers them financially and give a competitive edge on the basic
needs and to improve their business.

3.5.4 Technology Factor

Pakistan is developing in terms of technology. This is a modern age where use of information
technology has become necessary. To enhance the productivity industries should adopt digital
technologies as an option which will not only increase productivity it will saves much time
and a competitive advantage as many industries in Pakistan is not technological strong

17 | P a g e
University of Central Punjab |
Creative Group |

enough. Moreover, Government should invest on the technological health of industries and
form research centers which will lead the country in terms of progress and development.

3.5.5 Environmental Factor

In Pakistan, many industries are lacking in creating the environment better. Government
should launch a movement which can perform certain operations like recycling, use natural
resources and biodegradable products which will create the environment save and healthy.
These components will not only clean the environment but also it will save the cost of use
minerals like coal, plastic and other expensive materials which are harming our environment.

3.5.6 Legal Factor

Business performance are much affected when it comes to legal factors. Regulatory
framework is one of the significant factor which affects the whole business. For controlling
this legal issues regular authorities should be formed which ensures the standards of
operations according to the right standards because they are certified.

3.6 CSR Efforts

Creative group is committed to positively impacting Individuals and Families and the
Communities as a socially responsible company across the world. Creative group have done
following CSR Efforts which are as given below: -

 Creative group have launched Creative Technology institutions in backward and

underdeveloped areas where the unemployment rate is very high so Creative group
have targeted such areas where students can’t afford to study so they can have
experienced by healthy learning environment by learning and practicing different
electrical and technical courses and can earn their livelihood.
 In 2012, Creative group started a factory named as sundar estate, where the company
required gas for their production, they contacted SNGPL for the supply of gas but as
the area is underdeveloped so SNGPL asked the company to wait for 3-4 years for
laying the underground gas pipes. The company collected the local waste and garbage
and installed a plant for producing their own gas which is called bio gas and this how
they fulfill their need of gas. This biodegradable process does not only diminish the
waste of the local areas but also save the use of natural gas.

Chapter 4: Internee Experience

4.1 Overview of main business processes
I had the opportunity to visit creative group of companies where each department of the
company was oriented to me. The brief business process of creative group of companies is to
develop a newspaper advertisement in which a tender is made in a newspaper for fulfilling of
a certain requirement to purchase it. After creating an advertisement creative group of
companies buy that tender and send that purchased tender to company for submission. After
submission, company prepares a chart for that tender and evaluate it by checking that what
costs should it bear or other requirements.

The evaluated tender is sent back to those who have advertised the tender where they have
two options that are to awarded or not awarded (which means to reject the project). If they
reject the whole procedure is stopped and the application is suspended for the required
production and if the award is given than the company is issued with the Letter of interest and
purchase order is also issued. After the issuance of letter and order, the company provide a
limited time for the production and provide them satisfaction in the way of performance
guarantee and they allocate the resources to the production units for further production.

The final step is of receiving payment from the supposed party by which the creative group of
companies receives half payment when the dealing segment is finished and they issue a
project completion certificate after the completion of the whole project. This is the overview
of the main business process which I have observe in the company.

4.2 Departmental Functions

The department functions which I had observes that the Creative Group is consist of six
departments which names are Marketing, Audit HR department, Finance, Production and
Procurement department.

4.2.1 Finance Department

The function of finance department is to manage the assets and deals with all kinds of money
or transaction of the company. In this department, as an internee I have observe that when
Creative Group starts its new project they calculate at first initial cost and then manage the all
financial activities accordingly, like presently in Peshawar they start project its initial cost
estimate of 1.3 crore. The all responsibilities to manage costs finance department can
manage.

4.2.2 Human Resource Department

The most significant department I have observed in the creative group of company is the HR
department because this department ensures the organization get the best of their employees
to give better outcome by doing investment in their working employees. The creative group
of company cares about their employees by providing employee benefits and creating an
environment which suits every employee hence employees are motivated to work harder.
Moreover, Creative group of company ensure the workplace security and manage the
compensation planning for its employees which is the reason for the low turnover rate in this
organization.

4.2.3 Audit Department

The assurance of the risk management is provided by this department. The functions which I
see that they maintain the records, evaluates them by Creative Group and the main aim of this
department is to minimize the funds as possible they can do. To maintain and remain up to
date this department looks for opportunities within market and its production can build strong
market share to grow accordingly to it.

4.2.4 Marketing and sales Department

The marketing and sales department the main function is they are responsible for selling,
promotion of their products. It manages information of the market to rises the performance by
making sales strategies which attracts new customers. The Creative Group use email as well
as SMS to tell user about their products if they need users can contact them. From this
Creative Group most rely on private sales means build customers to customer’s references for
selling their products to achieve high revenue.

4.2.5 Procurement Department

The procurement department main function I have observe is that it issues the order and
should be responsible for fulfilling the demands of the productions units, what requirements
they actually need for production. And mainly it manages the raw materials for the products.
For example, when the new project is started like RESCU 1122 wants 100 transformer
procurement department first check the raw materials and check the stock. If it is not present
they will try to import or purchase from local market after that all raw material goes to
production unit and then start making the products like transformer.

4.2.6 Production Department

The opportunity in the production department I observe that this department can makes raw
material to finish goods, by improving the quality of the product they can meet to despair set
target when they make sure about consumer will receive best quality products. Their
production department manufacture many products like transformers, static energy meters,
solar power systems and solar panels etc.

4.3 Internee Experience

4.3.1 Observation during internship
In my internship short tenure of 6 weeks I made observations starting from welcoming a new
intern or employee. To having inspiration and motivation from each employee and their
analysis in standard decision making. Employees are working under strict rules and
regulations but working under this pressure the burden is shared among employees and
appropriate performance is recognized. Employees are honored and treated as a family.

4.3.2 Problems Identified

The mains problems I identify during my internship are as following,

 They don’t follow SOP’s properly.

 There All the important data was stored in the form of files.
 There is having no entertainment for relaxing.
 A need of leadership development in employees.
 They don’t retrain the talented employees.
 Management changes is the big problem I identify.
 Main problem identified there is lack of Taring and development of employees.

23 | P a g e
University of Central Punjab |
Creative Group |

4.3.3 Personal Account of Interaction

It was to my surprise how calm the atmosphere of the company is. No hustle and bustle, no
grudges among employees and no politics and also the most importantly individual respect
everyone possess is very impressive. That I think is quite good in this company. The way of
talking of seniors is really polite to me, because I observe many times seniors are treating me
very nice every time. They share their experiences while teaching rules which they had
learned. I really was not singe time made a feel that I am still an undergraduate student.

4.3.4 Skills learned

The skills I analyze is the interpersonal talents in terms of interacting expert with the seniors
and colleagues as well as dealing with quires. Moreover, my communication skills got
improved as you not only communicate internally with management but externally also like
the employees. Most importantly I have realized the importance of team work and
collaboration because as a part of a team you can recognize every strength and weakness and
cover all the aspects that are needed to be resolve.

4.3.5 Most challenging task:

As an internee, it was not easy to handle the challenges in the company. There very a lot of
tough operations that are to be handed with the most cautious and delicateness because if any
work or result is not precise enough it can create malfunction in a certain process. Finance
analysis was quite difficult and challenging task for me as an internee because it contains a
lot of processes and operations in it that were quite difficult to handle. Moreover, the other
challenge was to conduct surveys by which we can identify the weakness of company and in
which areas it is lacking. This was a tough task because a lot of information was needed to be
gathered to handle the situation and to create best possible strategies.

Chapter 5: Future Recommendations

The future recommendations for a suitable course of action in the organizational context are
as following respectively;

5.1 Training and development of employees

The company should take that trainer who have experienced form the specific departments
specialized in his tasks which can showcase and demonstrates the job performance to the new
hire or to the unskilled worker of the company. The advantages of this are it is in-expensive
and this can focus on effectiveness of training.

5.2 Management Changing

Management change is the major issue that is the threat for company, I recommend that it
should be not acceptable because it can occur big changes in the company. As if certain
manager is replaced or resign from job it will creates many major issues for the employees.
The data is in this company is in the book keeping form or in files, the changing management
can also take all data and new person have performed or face difficulties also employees
takes time to understand the nature and behavior of their manger, also it might be a
probability that employees have been good terms with their old manager or head of
department. The personality of different person can affect the work quality.

5.3 Data storage

The other future recommendation is, that Creative Group saves their data on registers and
files these can get the chances of losing the record, data. If company, make their main server
to save their data even if employee can remove from the company data will recover easily
because then data is not brain memorized, it will be safe and secure. The advantage is that
company will have avoided by serious loss.

5.4 Conformity with Laws and Regulations

There is no entrainment for relaxing as in human nature it does not like to be ruled by the
strict rules and regulations all the working time. Human wants the need of an off time at its
work place to be relax their mind and get fresh. By proving sometimes, a relaxing mood to
the employee should give the employee believes that company cares a lot we should do and
give best performance.

5.5 Proper followed SOP’s use

The professionalism includes the ethics and moral codes, and some certain SOP’s of industry
like they don’t wear formal dress, they don’t have identity cards. The company should see
that and act accordingly because it describes the image of company. Like if the worker who
works in company have its own identity he/she if meets someone in dealing of different
projects it gives positive image to them.

5.6 Leadership Development

All knows that the leaders are born and as well as they are made, in the creative group serious
or upper management needs to observe and figure out a worker in the respective department
who have an ability and can be a leader. He/she tells tasks and teaches the employees in good
directions.

The future recommendation is Creative Group can make the partnerships with others big
electrical companies to expand their business. It main advantages are it would improve the
business outcomes, it can improve offering to customers and it can have bought innovative

Chapter 6: Internee Findings

I have identified that when I am as an internee in company, I observes many key differences
between theoretical university studies and practically doing an internship in a company. The
ambience and environment if the university is very calming and smooth like come university
and have some fun with friends which leads the students towards non-serious attitude and
that’s can harm them is their upcoming practical life. For example, a person is to be punctual,
quite obedient and organized in his work and good with words as well. Person can’t afford
passing a cross ironic comment to his peers.

Another big difference is that there's no hazard of mistake taken at workplaces i.e. one
alphabetical or numerical mistake can do screw ups. While the errors in studies have most
effective one effect on students and that is losing few marks however mistakes in workplaces
must be paid via others.

Additionally, I agree with that internship course have to be allowed to register best after the
finishing touch of credit hours due to the fact after 6 semesters, we're nevertheless to observe
our majors and we cannot relate plenty of our expertise to the practical direction of action and
that is where we sense distracted and lost and begin questioning what all this is. Hence, this
path should be covered.

We are kept in class rooms and bounded in campus life and now not advocated a lot to go out
and explore ourselves. While after graduation we abruptly enter in a company where we were
studying for four years. We must be taken with the aid of our instructors to work sites. To
discover the realistic facet of our expertise before moving into business life.
