A Hero in Viridian Weald
The nature sees things as they are,
Whereas people can foresee later to be revealed;
Their Déjà vu; a ruptured greenery,
Thus, a hero roused within a misty weald.
What plant is not wilting?
What is people without its nature?
What nasty is a good doing?
What is being a hero? A saviour?
There are two kinds of men towards the world,
Some are superior- others, vile.
Those who only speaks about nature;
A blabber.
But to those who act on nature;
A hero.
They say, do now or suffer later,
Its true- it can’t be undone;
Social change is all that matter,
Cape is just a retrofit- service is coercion.
How could it be?
Tell yourself; forewarn, and reflect.
Aim for more, settle for the most,
Know your capabilities- serve and protect.
Thus, a hero roused within Viridian weald,
Living within Earth in responsibility,
Valliant- simply audacious;
Hero as we are, Hero- we will be.
We Live in an Infection Planet
Have you seen any coconut husks, unused bottles, or useless plastics that can
store stagnant water? How about unattended trashes, clogged canals, or even piling
junks?
One thing’s for sure- pronto propagation of infections. We live in an infection
planet after all.
Bacterial and viral infections aren’t new to the minds of Filipinos. In old times,
people believed and proven that infectious diseases could be stopped with subordinate
efforts. But as the world is shrouded with the quick succession of modernization, the
demand of working priorities abruptly increased. A wide range of obscurities could
happen if we don’t give time maintaining cleanliness. Above all, the absence of
cleanliness is baleful- it is not an experience worth having.
As the rainy season arrives, all we can foresee is the time for breeding of an
uncommon vector: small, avian, and cunning- the mosquitos. It occurs nationally and all
year-round, mostly greater to unsanitized places. But the peak transmissions takes place
during the months of May to November. As of first weeks of 2020, Philippines recorded
almost 15 thousand dengue cases. This alarms the Filipino community, as we are
currently experiencing and being tested by COVID-19- a worldwide pandemic.
Thus, immediate response must be done. The Department of Health (DOH)
implemented the enhanced 4-S strategy. First, Search and destroy mosquito-breeding
sites. Second, Self-protection measures like wearing long pants and long sleeved shirts
and daily use of mosquito repellents. Third, Seek early consultation and lastly, Support
fogging/ spraying. But nothing could be better than preventing the infections to spread.
Normally, cleanliness always hinder the circulation of diseases. Cleaning needs time, and
it need all hands on deck to be done. This tedious task requires cooperation, thus, a
team effort in totality.
It can be helped after all. Cleanliness is a must.
Nevertheless, Dengue isn’t only the one that could harm health. Once we clean,
we can prevent Polio, diarrhea, filariasis and the like in spreading.
The time for nature is now. Lend a small second to look back for the
environment. Give some moment to clean. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in
the surroundings is beneficial. Each of us has his or her own purpose in maintaining the
well-being of each and every one. The condition of our environment defines the health
of its people.
Do it now! Make it worthwhile!
We see now the consequences of one’s birth in an infection planet is irrelevant, it
is with the gift of life that determines what will be our purpose through time; to
maintain cleanliness- our bourn ultimatum.
