PCOURSE TITLE: RIZAL
II. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course gives a new approach in understanding the greatness of Dr. Jose Rizal’s
character, the richness of his thoughts and teachings which are his legacies of humanity, and
the inspiring examples which are his gifts to his people and perennial motivations for them to
rise to nobility.
It present a new perspective on Rizal’s true worth to the Philippines as the exponent of
its national identity, as a conscientious builder of the Filipino nation with a clear vision of its
aspirations and steady devotion to its ideals and as a champion of the right of the Filipinos to
live a life of their own in larger freedom.
it elucidates a wider horizon towards a new dimension for Rizal’s role as a citizen of the
world in espousing and defending human rights and fundamental freedoms which were vital and
essential in his days as they are in our time.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To recognize the relevance of Rizal’s ideals, thoughts, teachings, and life-values to
present conditions in the community and the country; and apply them in the solution of
day-by-day situations and problems of contemporary life.
2. To develop understanding and appreciation of the qualities, behavior, and character of
Rizal, as his thoughts and ideas.
3. To develop moral character, personal discipline, citizenship and vocational efficiency.
