Topic: Blended Learning in Student's Retention: A descriptive analysis

Statement of the Problem:

The purpose of this research paper is to identify how blended learning improves student retention
by ensuring student success of BSED-1st Year students of the University of Cebu-Banilad. The
findings from descriptive analysis can quickly identify areas improvement of student success. 

Specifically, the study sought to answer the following questions: (specific questions)

1.  Gender;- Includes both male and female

1.1 number of social networking sites joined; and -Three social networking


1.2 number of hours spent on those sites in a week-Maximum of 25 hrs in a week

2. What is the respondents’ level of writing skills in terms of:

2.1 structure; - Intermediate

2.2 grammar; and -Students are able to meet the practical needs and cab respond into simple
grammarly construction.

2.3 Mechanics- Each respondent must possess the ability to cope up with his/her hours of
retention. Respondents must be coming from freshmen of College of Teacher education

3. Is there a significant relationship between the respondents’ profile and the level of the writing
skills? The personal characteristics of respondents based on their voluntary or involuntary
participation will form the very backbone of this study.

4. Based on the findings, what writing seminar workshop may be proposed? (output) Create a
workshop planner for the students and suggest an interactive session so that there will be a much
more external learning that will retain in the mind of a student. This process often will combine
elements qualitative research, brainstorming and problem solving.
Topic: A qualitative analysis on the Influence of Cooperative Learning: An Approach to
Increase Student’s Speaking Ability.
Statement of the Problem: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of cooperative
learning as a factor to increase student’s speaking ability of the First Year BSED English Major
students of the University of Cebu-Banilad. The findings of this study will be used as the basis
for the analysis on the Approach of student’s speaking ability.
Specifically, the study sought to answer the following questions: (specific questions)
1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of;
▪ Year of studying; and
▪ Age;
2. Exposure to English Learning Materials;
3. How environment affects the Speaking ability of the student.

TOPIC: The Influence of Student Vocabulary mastery toward Writing narrative Text Ability

Statement of the Problem:


The purpose of the study is to consider the effect of students' vocabulary mastery and grammar

mastery on their writing ability of the First Year BSED English Major students of the University

of Cebu-Banilad. – general problem

Specifically, the study sought to answer the following questions: (specific questions)
1. How vocabulary influence student’s in their text ability in terms of:
1. expressing ideas more clearly;
2. vocabulary mastery; and
3. grammar mastery
2. Is there a significant impact on academic writing by college students' reading habits?
3. How is students’ writing ability in narrative text? (output)
