Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Chi Linh Ha, a fresh graduate student at the Faculty of Business
English (FBE) in Foreign Trade University (FTU), Hanoi, Vietnam. This letter
is to express my interest in the Marketing Master program at your University.
Marketing is something that I am incredibly passionate about. From a young
age, I have always fascinated about the idea of presenting in front of large
groups of people or informing everyone about the state-of-the-art products
advertised on TV. In my perspective, marketing is the human-oriented field
where marketers can capitalize on its effectiveness to be better off such as
pursuing their career prospect or fostering their interpersonal skills to become
versatile. With that deeply ingrained notion, I have persistently being inspired
to become a professional marketer since my early formative years.
Four years after enrolling at the Foreign Trade University (FTU) – a leading
educational institution in Vietnam, I attained my Bachelor’s Degree in Business
English with a high score of 3.28/4. Having completed several modules such as
Marketing Principles, International Marketing Strategy and Business
Communication Culture, I developed a deep enthusiasm in the marketing and
communication development in Vietnam multicultural society as well as in a
global scale. During these course works, I was equipped with comprehensive,
modern knowledge and hands-on drills in the field. Equally important, I have
also gained an opportunity to stimulate my analysis, assessment and
presentation skills, which enables me to be effectively involved in group
discussion and give a boost to my teamwork spirit and critical thinking ability.
Throughout my undergraduate years, I have been participated in a wide range of
extra curriculum activities related to the field of Communication and held
several leading positions such as Head of Communication Department of MC
and Fashion Club and Vice Manager of Promotion Department of Chinese Club
FTU. In these positions, I have had opportunities to plan and develop the
promotion campaigns to facilitate student’s benefits or to raise money for
humanitarian purposes. I have also be responsible for supervising the official
fanpages of these two clubs and made them appealed to more than 6000
followers. Additionally, I have also acted as the Deputy Secretary of FBE's
Youth Union and can be able to build my personality traits as a trustworthy,
independent and extrovert character and cooperate in harmony with other
people. Therefore, I am confident that my interpersonal skills would prove to be
a valuable asset to your University.
In my senior year, I was granted an internship with the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs (MOFA), the central government institution of Vietnam charged with
leading foreign affairs. Over 3 months of internship, I acted as a member of the
Communication Team in Department of West Asia and Africa and have derived
a wide range of knowledge about how international communication are
conducted, as well as fostering various skills to work in such a high-pressure
and discipline environment. By reporting and editing news, I have not only
approached to many different social and political fields, but also developed my
critical thinking about several issues that stirred up considerable controversy in
Vietnam and foreign countries as well.
Your Marketing Master program, without doubt, provides the excellent
theoretical background and practicality for my professional prospect. Its diverse
courses including many interesting core units, together with its cutting-edge
marketing tools and techniques, would strengthen my academics and practices
on a global scale. Unarguably, your University would become an ideal place for
my further education because of your outstanding educational system, with
Business school pioneers in marketing education and ranks high in the UK
University League. Being part of your Master program, I will not only have a
high standard of education but also can enjoy the updated facilities, a cultural
diversity environment and the excellent student’s union across UK. I think that
the study time in your University would be exciting, memorable and helpful in
achieving my goal to become a marketer when I come back to Vietnam.
It is my honour to contribute my knowledge and working experience in
marketing and communication to your Master program. It would also be my
pride to represent your University as an alumnus to bring the precious learning
opportunity here more visible to other prospective students, and to maintain a
close-knit in your University’s alumni network between Vietnam and UK.
Yours sincerely,
Chi Linh Ha
