Everyone knows that junk food is unhealthy, but why do we
like it so much, maybe some people really like junk food because it
tastes so appetizing, and keep wanting to eat junk food over and
over again until the stomach feels full. Why Indonesian people prefer
to consume junk food than healthy food? It is because junk food is
easier and faster to serve than healthy food which takes time to
process.
There are many types of healthy food, 3 of which are often
consumed by Indonesian people, namely fruits, vegetables, and
whole grains. Besides that, there are also many types of fast food, for
example fried food, instant noodles, canned food. Although it tastes
good and is addictive, fast food is not as well as healthy food, of
course, for long-term consumption.
There are various reasons or causes for Indonesian people to
choose to eat fast food. Especially because people want food that is
fast to eat and doesn't take a long time to cook. Besides that the
next reason is because it is more tempting for food lovers of course.
And the last reason is mostly used by women because they often
experience changes in mood, suddenly angry, sad, happy, laughing,
for example, if they are angry, they definitely want to eat spicy fast
food like MCD spicy chicken, seblak, meatball aci which men may not
be strong enough to eat because they are very spicy but that is
exactly what women want.
In general, fast food contains quite a lot of carbohydrates,
but contains very little fiber. These carbohydrates are then
processed by the body into glucose or blood sugar, if the habit of
eating fast food is done continuously, there will be an increase in
blood sugar and high blood pressure.
Fast food also usually contains excess calories which can
cause weight gain, this increase can cause respiratory problems in a
person. Carbohydrates and sugar can also cause acidity in a person's
mouth, this can damage the protective layer of teeth, and being
overweight due to too many carbohydrates can also be a risk of
fractures when falling due to broken bones.
Eating healthy foods will make a person able to maintain an
ideal body weight, so it does not exceed the weight of other normal
people which can cause unwanted things, besides that it can reduce
the risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Another benefit of healthy food is that it takes care of
healthy bones and teeth, this is inversely proportional to the impact
if someone eats fast food more often which causes damage to bones
and teeth as described in the previous paragraph. Maintaining
healthy bones and teeth is equally important keeping our bodies
healthy.
The next benefit of healthy food is that it can improve brain
memory, healthy diet and food can also help a person to maintain
brain health, healthy foods that contain vitamins C, D, E and omega 3
are the ones that can improve brain memory, 3 nutritional content
This can be obtained by eating salmon, tuna, milkfish.
So it can be seen that eating fast food too often can cause
various things compared to eating healthy foods that have a lot of
benefits in it. it's not that you shouldn't eat fast food, it's allowed but
it must be according to the body's needs not to be excessive, it's
better if you want to eat fast food in balance with regular exercise to
burn calories caused by fast food or it can also be balanced by eating
food healthy so you can benefit too.
