Dear Kurzgesagt,
My name is Duc Thang Hoang, a second-year student majoring in General Medicine at Vietnam National
University in Hanoi. Apart from being a medical student, I am also the founder and incumbent president
of an English Club named English Club of UMP (ECU) - the first and only English Club of my University. I
am writing this letter to request permission to use one of your videos for my English Club page on
Facebook.
Recently, while finding ideas for developing our club, me and my team have been inspired after having
watch numerous videos on your Youtube channel, and I would have to say that those videos are really
lovely, inspiring yet informative, and quite approachable. One of the videos on your Youtube channel,
"The Coronavirus Explained & What You Should Do", impressed us the most because of the way you
explained and depicted the Coronavirus is really approachable to us – the Medical students trying to
study further about the virus. After watching that informative video, we really want to translate it in to
Vietnamese, using a lot of Medical terms that we have studied throughout our training program, and
after that, post it on our Facebook fanpage to share it with more students looking for information of this
virus, also to explain some of the English Medical terms that are not too familiar with the students.
I have read some of your answer in the FAQ section on the website, however I still decide to write this
letter to you and I hope that I can get a reply from Kurzgesagt, and here are some of the reasons:
We are a student-based club in the University and we want to deliver the English-studying spirit
to the students around us.
We work for free, our club is run not-for-profit and we do not have thoughts on making money
through your video.
We really admire what the Kurzgesagt team is doing right now – explain science in a humorous
and lively way, and we really want to spread it to anyone struggling in science.
Those are the reason why I hope that we can have a chance to post the "The Coronavirus Explained &
What You Should Do" on our fanpage, using the subtitles that we have done.

team, really thank all of you guys for creating such increadible and inspiring videos, and I hope that
Kurzgesagt will be more successful in the future.
