Test Report: Patient ID 0100007634 Sid No

1) The patient underwent testing for SARS CoV-2 (COVID 19) using a qualitative Real-time RT-PCR method. 2) The test result was negative, meaning there was no evidence of SARS CoV2 viral RNA in the nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab sample tested. 3) However, a negative result does not rule out SARS CoV2 infection and should not be used as the sole basis for treatment or patient management decisions.

MOLECULAR BIOLOGY - SARS CoV-2 (COVID 19) VIRAL RNA RT-PCR

SAMPLE     Nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab CT VALVE RANGE

High Positive : 10 to 18
METHOD Qualitative Real - time RT-PCR (open system - BIORAD CFX 96) Medium Positive : 19 to 26
Low Positive : 27 to 32
RESULT NEGATIVE Border Positive : 33 to 35

INTERPRETATION:

Negative: There is no evidence of SARS CoV2 Viral RNA in the given specimen tested. However, it does not
rule out SARS CoV2 infection completely and should not be used as the sole basis for making decisions related
to treatment and other patient management.

Positive: Indicates presence of SARS CoV2 viral RNA or Nucleic Acid. All detected results have been verified
using a confirmatory test. Detected result does not distinguish between replicating or non – replicating organism.

Test Limitations: The above test is conducted as per kits approved by ICMR.

· False Negative results may be seen in samples collected too early or too late in the clinical course of the
illness. Kindly refer to the latest ICMR guidelines.
· Presence of PCR inhibitors in the sample and potential mutations within the target regions of the
pathogens genome covered by the primers and/or probes used in the kit may result in under
quantification and/or failure to detect.
· Sensitivity of the test depends upon the quality of the sample submitted for testing and stage of the
infection.
