BRIEF INTRODUCTION

What is musical form and how important it is in understanding music?

Musical Form is created when the different elements of music in a

composition were arranged and combined into sections. It is like looking at the
totality of the piece. The different sections in a composition make the music more
exciting to listen to. That is why knowing and understanding the structure of the
piece help you appreciate music even more.

Writing a song should be carefully arranged based on the melody,

lyrics, and other elements of music, this will give a pleasing appeal to the
listeners.

The shortest unit of music is the motif. It may be in a form of a rhythm

or melody that can be heard repeatedly in the entire piece. The combination of
motifs that form melodies is called a musical phrase.

The different musical forms are Strophic, Binary, Ternary, and Rondo.

MUSICAL FORMS:

1. STROPHIC (AAA or A)

The simplest of all musical forms is called strophic or Unitary. It is

used mostly in popular, folk. Religious and Christmas carol. This form
has only one part, A, which keeps the same melody, rhythm, and
harmony for all the stanzas. Only the word changes.

form is composed of two different main sections: A is the main idea and
