1. The Present Perfect Tense is formed with have/has + past participle form of the verb (V3), which
is regular or irregular.

2. The Present Perfect Tense is used to indicate:


a. That an action or state happened in the past and continues to the present.
For example:
I have known him for two years.
(I started to know him two years ago and I still know him now)
b. That an action happened in the past and that the result of the action continues to or is still
true at present.
For example:
I have opened the window.
(The result of the action “opened the window” continues to present. The window is still open)
c. That an action happened in the past and was repeated over a period of time.
For example:
I have visited him several times.
