BRIGADA ESKWELA AND BRIGADA PABASA
S.Y. 2021 – 2022
DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 06, 2021
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success.”
On the first day of the second week of Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pabasa,
though there are still more students who were not enrolled and parents who
were not able to have the brigada, only few were present that day due to the
bad weather condition. PAG-ASA informed that there will be a low pressure
that time.
As teacher who were assigned that week to watch over the brigada
were present, mam Lorna O. Vermon, the principal decided to have a small
talk with the group. We had a meeting that talks about the upcoming
opening and the task that we have to perform that week in preparation for
the opening. She also reminded as about the individual assignment for that
week.
For the assigned designation/committee:
Documentation In-Charge: Adelfa O. Tabugon
Narrative Report In-Charge: Jean C. Banug
Brigada In-Charge: Rossie Vim S. Fernandez
Enrolment In-Charge: Florante V. Namoc
Mecheil D. Ganancias
Pabasa In-Charge: Alice G. Salobre
Hernando S. Banug Jr.
Jessica O. Duyan
Deona G. Malbas
Over All Brigada In-Charge: Juanita Ganancias
As we roam around the school vicinity, it was still observable that the
school still needed more hand, volunteers and parents to participate to
achieve the acceptable cleanliness of the school ground as we soon to open
for another school year. For the Brigada Pabasa, Catholic Youth Ministry of
Gamut led by Judell Lozano, sustained the spirit of volunteerism as they
continue their Pabasa to the students who needed assistance in reading and
comprehension.
There were 5 Grade-7 students, 4 Grade-8 and 1 Grade-9 students
who attended the Pabasa for that day.
In the afternoon, teachers also participated in the brigada eskwela. We
cleaned the offices to make it comfortable in preparation for another
tiresome days of printing of modules and other learning materials.

DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 07, 2021
“No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play”-He
Luccock
As we proceed to the second day of the last week of brigada, the weather was
good and people were keep coming in. Faculty and staff, parents, volunteers
and donors gave their full support for the “Bayanihan Para Sa Paaralan” as a
tagline for this Brigada Eskwela 2021.
Full force of parents were still there as they continue cleaning the school
ground. Following the health protocols, they participated for the improvement
of the school. Alumni Batch 2020, our fresh graduates also volunteered in
painting the waiting shed and front school fence.
Bonna Brookeshield M. Malbas, as our Brigada Pabasa volunteer from the
first day up to the last day gave her fervent support to the school together with
the other diligent brigada pabasa volunteers. There were 2 Grade-7 students, 3
Grade-8, 2 Grade-9, 1 Grade-10 and 2 Grade-12 students who willingly
attended the Pabasa for that day. It was observable that the number of
learners who were recipient for Brigada Pabasa were declining during the
second week. Some of the learners did not come back because of some reasons
that we must have to consider. There were also few who were first timer. There
were still more who did not want to participate in the Pabasa because they
were afraid and hesitant to the volunteers. These learners need more
encouragement so they could have the help extended by the school and
volunteers for them to acquire the basic reading skills.
Lorvie O. Vermon, a graduate of Law conducted a school base seminar for
the upcoming Grade-12 students. He talked about Human Rights and how to
deal such circumstances against it. Students were attentive in the discussion
and participative in sharing their experiences to the speaker. He also discussed
about VAWC and what are the stand of the government over the offense on this
matter. Students must be informed with these because, they are susceptible to
such violence around them and sometimes they don’t know that their right
were already violated.
As an overall achievement for that day, cleaning the school was almost done
but still there were still more things to be done.

DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 08, 2021
“Alone we can so little, Together we can do so much”-Helen Keller
School without the help of the community is helpless. School will
stand, when the community supports. As we move closer to the opening,
schools still calling for more volunteers, SK Federation for the Municipality
of Barobo had their way to give their undying support to the development of
Youth holistically including their academe as they volunteer for the Brigada
Pabasa. During that day, there were 4 Grade-7, 4 Grade-8, 3 Grade-9, 1
Grade 10 and 2 Grade-12 who were present for the pabasa. Teachers who
were assigned for the Pabasa joined as volunteers.
Parents continue cleaning the ground as they enrolled their learners
in the school. Parents who were coming to school become few since they
already have the full blast on the first week of Brigada Eskwela. Volunteers
for cleaning the ground, painting the fence and waiting shed continued until
they finished doing it.

DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 09, 2021
“Successful emergency management relies upon experience and
expertise.” – Leo Bosner
Simultaneous Earthquake drill was scheduled that day, Thursday, 9 th day of
September. This drill was participated by the two schools: Gamut Central
Elementary School and Gamut National High School. Barangay officials of
Barangay Gamut assisted the drill to make it successful.
Before the drill took place, faculty and staff together with the barangay
officials had their orientation conducted by Felmer Garcia, DRR Head of the
Municipality of Barobo. The head oriented the group on how to do the drill, when
to start and what are the basic things to do like Duck, Hold and Cover.
As they finished the orientation, faculty and staff prepared for the go signal
to start the Drill. DRR Coordinator, Hernando Banug Jr. prepared the medicine
kit and assigned the personnel to act as an injured person.
As soon as the signal was heard, faculty and staff started the Duck, Hold
and Cover. Lined up moving out from the building where they stayed and acted
like having a real earthquake. Barangay officials were visible in the area
communicating with the other officials attending the needs of the other
participant in other school.
As we moved out from the building, we proceeded to the safe ground absent
from falling debris, falling trees and other materials. One personnel checked the
attendance and assumed that one could be injured. Hernando together with one
of the barangay official, assisted the assumed injured person and attend to his
medical needs. The injured person was taken to the ambulance to be moved to
the hospital.
Those things happened during the earthquake drill. And this drill was done
to be prepared for the unexpected earthquake to come.

DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 10, 2021
“Leaders become great not because of their power but, because of their
ability to empower others.” -John Maxwell
For the fifth day of Brigada Eskwela, the spirit of volunteerism did not
die but instead it encourages and empower others to contribute on their own
way. Fraternity and Sorority under the leadership of Materdo Banug cleaned
and painted the front fence of the school to make it attractive on the first day of
class.
They enjoyed tainting their hands with paints for the benefit of the
learners. Members of the PNP Barobo also hand in hand took in action not with
rifle and guns but with book and paint brush. The PNP boys helped painting
the fence and other structure while the ladies assisted for the brigada pabasa.
These were the participant of the brigada pabasa during that time: 2 Grade-7,
2 Grade-8, 2 Grade-9, 1 Grade-10 and 2 Grade-12.
The PNP ladies enjoyed the brigada pabasa reminiscing the time when
they were still in school.
Parents were still coming even on the last day of Brigada Eskwela.
They took the chance to enroll their learners and participate in cleaning the
school ground.
