Consent Form

1. Statement of purpose

You are invited to participate in a study examining the relationship between age and how social media is
used. We hope to learn more about how users interact with social media depending on what platforms
they use and how old they are. You were selected to possibly participate in this study because you are
someone who uses social media and can help offer insight on how your age group interacts with the
platform being used. Medical information and medical history will not be disclosed and or needed for this
study.

2. Description, Including Risks and Benefits

If you decide to participate, you will be asked to fill out a short survey about your use of social media.
Details about what is being browsed will remain confidential to those reviewing the survey. Participants
will be asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding personal information including but not limited to age,
sex, and types of social media they use. This will then be reviewed by a research team to look through
the data for similarities and differences. The survey should only take about 5-8 minutes to complete.

3. Confidentiality

All information obtained will be anonymous and will not be disclosed to any third party. If data is
presented it will be anonymous and no information will be traced back to you. In the written reports only
the names of the researchers will be reported and never the names of the people being participants. This
consent form, with your approval, will be stored separately and independently from the data collected so
that your responses will not be identifiable.

4. Statement that Participation Is Voluntary

To participate in this study it is completely voluntary and it is up to the discretion of the person if they want
to do it or not. Whether or not you participate it will not affect your future relations with anyone at Bryant
University as the study is completely anonymous anyway. If you choose to participate in this study you
are free to withdraw from the study at any time. It is asked that you notify the investigator if you decide to
withdraw.

available to keep a copy of this form.

6. Signature Indicating Informed Consent

Please sign if you have decided to participate. If you sign it indicates that you have read the information
above and that you are at least 18 years of age. This does not mean that you have to participate in the
study just that you understand the consent form. Participants are still allowed to withdraw from the study
at any time without any consequences.
