SUBJECT
PROCEDURE FOR REPAIRING STUCK GREASE PUMPS OF EX2600-7 (SERIAL NOS. 7001 TO
7027) MACHINES
OUTLINE
On the applicable machines, the grease pump pistons might stuck/seize.
This is because of low input pressure from the pilot lines and high back pressure of the return lines
which prevents smooth piston movement.
To solve this problem, the reducing valve's set pressure and the return line's routing have been
changed. For machines with serial numbers listed in this service bulletin, replace the reducing valves
and change the return lines' routing if such a problem occurs.
IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURE AND ITEMS
- Release the pressure in advance.
- Replace the reducing valve with a replacement part.
- Replace the return line hose with a replacement part.
* Thoroughly read the safety section in the service manual before starting the work to ensure safe operation.
On any welding works, the work should only be done by qualified welders.
* After replacing the main hydraulic equipment or engine or after post-assembling the aforementioned as an
option, be sure to change and register the post-assembled device serial number on Global e-Service (MMR,
HR, MME, G-Claim).

2 Releasing the pressure
If the grease pump gets stuck/seize, stop the engine and loosen the plug shown in the figure below in order to
release the pressure. Be careful because the pressure oil may immensely discharge.
After this task, the grease pump will recover and automatic lubrication will smoothly reoperate.
To prevent recurrence, carry out the instructions described and on the following pages.
