Answer the following questions comprehensively. (Criteria for scoring: Content- 5 pts;
Coherence- 3 pts; Correctness of Grammar- 2 pts)

1. How are you going to define globalization?

Globalization embodies socio-cultural understanding, strengthening the unification of
the nation, maneuver social relations of the distinct countries and organizations, and
interconnecting business and commerce, and the people for the integration of the
economy, politics, and diverse cultures around the world.
2. Cite at least two reasons why it is important to study the concept of Globalization.
Justify the reason that you gave by providing examples.
It is crucial to study and understand the concept of globalization because it broadens
our views about the diversity of the different cultures, and the concept of globalization
allows us to be open about the status of our economy, about politics and human
relations, and the improvement of the quality and way of life of our people. An example
that is relevant to both reasons is the growth of the economy of the Philippines because
of the businesses (local and international), especially trading of products (our spices
and locally made crafts) and the employment of our people in several countries, which
promotes Philippine pride and diminishes discrimination since they get to know our
cultures and traditions.
3. How does globalization affect economy, society and you?
Globalization is very beneficial when it comes to the escalation of our economy, the
healthy relationships between people because of the heightened level of understanding
and sensitivity in one’s culture, traditions, and beliefs, and Globalization helps me in
being knowledgeable about the events and situations that are happening around me
and it affects me because I am not ignorant when it comes to accepting and embracing
people who have different practices and way of living.
4. If we would take away the concept of globalization from the bigger picture, what do
you think will happen to our world 20 years from now?
Just like in the past, numerous wars and several misunderstandings aroused due to the
ignorant minds, and selfishness of the people, and neither was Globalization in the
picture nor was it understood and practiced. And now if we were to take away this
concept, I believe history will repeat itself because human nature supports selfishness.
20 years from now if Globalization is not established, the “end of the world” we see in
movies will be our reality, because there won’t be a system nor an understanding
between countries but just a declaration of power and who gets to claim everything.
There will no longer be unity and fairness.
5. Cite three changes that were brought about by globalization and how do these
changes affect society, economy and you?
Because of globalization, many organizations were established just like United Nations,
UNESCO, UE, WTO and etc., and these organizations aim to prosper Globalization and
bring peace and unity to the nations. Globalization changed the economy in so many
ways, the development of technology and innovations, the production and low cost of
products, and the growth of local and international markets. Globalization also changed
the world in terms of dealing with racial discrimination. These changes affect society,
economy, and myself positively since that is the aim of Globalization, and it has helped
maintain peace and order and allowed countries to be united.
