Respected SIr, I am trying to update my father's name on my PAN card but I am unable to do so. I have tried many times but it gives
the message "We are unable to proceed with your online PAN application due to following reason: Mismatch in any one or more of
the following fields as per PAN application with the details available in UIDAI database. Name/ Gender/ Date of Birth/ Name as per
Aadhaar. Kindly visit designated TIN-FC /PAN Centre and submit your PAN application using Biometric (fingerprint) facility." But my
AADHAR is having no problem I am uploading my AADHAR. Kindly help
Also please tell me exactly what AADHAR details available in UIDAI database of mine is mismatching with PAN Application

The complainant was contacted on the registered mobile number and he informed that he has applied for correction for name in his
Aadhar. He will apply for PAN correction after his name is corrected in aadhar. NSDL has refunded the amount for both the token
nos. The grievance may be treated as closed/disposed.

Reply :- In response to your RTI Application bearing Registration No. UIDAI/R/E/21/ 01087 dated 16.10.2021,
received by this office on 18.10.2021 the following information is furnished under the purview of Right to
Information Act, 2005:-
Para 1 : In this regards, it is to inform you that, all the Aadhaar enrolment and Updation process is governed by
The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016(as amended).
The Aadhaar Act, itself has privacy provision and full chapter is dedicated for that i.e. Chapter VI: ‘Protection of
Information’ in which there are specific provisions for sharing of information obtained from Aadhaar number
holder. In this regards attention is drawn to section 28(5) of Aadhaar Act, which states that: Section 28 (5):
Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, and save as otherwise
provided in this Act, the Authority or any of its officers or other employees or any agency that maintains the
Central Identities Data Repository shall not, whether during his service or thereafter, reveal any information
stored in the Central Identities Data Repository or authentication record to anyone:
Provided that an Aadhaar number holder may request the Authority to provide access to his identity
information excluding his core biometric information in such manner as may be specified by regulations.
As such, all the information requested by the applicant is part of CIDR and cannot be shared with anyone even
the Aadhaar holder itself.
To meet the requirement, you are suggested that the resident may download e-Aadhaar for verification of their
own demographic information from UIDAI official website i.e. www.uidai.gov.in at My Aadhaar > Get Aadhaar >
Download Aadhaar. As e-Aadhaar is equally valid like Physical Copy of Aadhaar for all purposes. For UIDAI
circular on validity of e Aadhaar, please visit UIDAI official website www.uidai.gov.in at My Aadhaar >
downloads > validity of downloaded Aadhaar (e Aadhaar) as proof of identity.
