Adolescence Project Reflection
Your reflection must be written in full TEA paragraphs. Each of the following paragraphs
MUST include specific evidence and examples to support your reflection.
1. Explain how you grew as a writer in this project. Be specific, go back through your
essay to find evidence. If possible, compare specific examples from an earlier draft
with your final draft, and discuss how your essay changed, and why those changes
made it a stronger piece of writing.
At the beginning of I didn’t know what to say so I kinda just said what came to mind
and it ended up being me explaining the backstory of anime characters which wasn’t very
necessary so when it went through the first critique it was mostly saying “too much anime”
which I understood but at the time I didn’t know what to say, so after reading the critiques
and starting my second draft I started talking more about my experience and how the
anime character I was talking about related to me and then after a few more critiques I
started my final draft with more of an idea of what I was suppose to do. So the thing that
made me a better writer is getting those critiques that explained that I needed to talk more
about my experience and my connections instead of talking about someone's past.
2. What are your biggest take-aways from this project and how have they
transformed the way you see the world or yourself? This could be from any part of the
project: the content, the essay and mask, the design thinking process, exhibition prep, or
the exhibition itself.
My biggest takeaway would have to be learning about how the world sees
adolescence. Some grown ups look at us and are disappointed or think we are all horrible
when none of us are were all lost trying to find ourselves in this screwed up world filled
with mixed opinions, hatred, and we can’t all agree on something. Also realizing how
screwed up my life was before actually caring for myself and how I was able to take that
feeling and put it into an essay and a mask that connected in the way I wanted it to. The
person I based my mask off of is someone who also cut themselves from the world, family,
and friends.
3. How do you feel you have grown as a project worker and student throughout this
semester? Be specific and provide evidence!
I have grown from being a procrastinating student to a somewhat hard working
student I’m not going to lie I still feel like I procrastinate at times and I don’t get as invested
in my project unless I feel like it is an interesting topic and I think this project proved to
myself that I am learning and getting better. One thing I love about this project is I was able
to pick it I was able to pick something important to me not someone else which I thought
was amazing so I feel like I tried my hard in this project I would dare say harder than I ever
have before and that's mostly because I was able to pick the project and talk about my
experience.
4. Describe what you did as a group member and how it contributed to the success
of our exhibition. Include what you would change or do differently if you were to do this
project again.
I feel like I did good at setting up the room for exhibition the one thing I feel like I
could’ve done better is when we were discussing how we would set up the room I barely
gave any thought/opinion I just sat down and listened but that made matters worse
because I didn’t really know what was going on and just rolled with it wich lead me to be
disorganized before the exhibition.
