MODULE 4: Elements of Arts

Introduction
construction materials: kahoy; semento; tiles; bubog; pintura; at iba pa.

After successfully completing this module, you should be able to:

1. Create a zentangle by applying the lessons in this module
2. Write an artist’s statement explaining how you used the elements and principles of art
Discussion:

I. Elements of Art

1. Lines- continuous mark made on some surface by a moving dot

2. Geometric Shapes- formed when lines connect, flat and two-dimensional

3. Biomorphic Shapes- models artistic design elements on naturally occurring patterns or
shapes reminiscent of nature and living organisms

4. Space- refers to the distance or area between, around, above, below, or within things or
objects
5. Form- three-dimensional shapes

6. Color- most expressive element of art, absorption and reflection of light on a surface
7. Texture- tactile quality of a surface that can be conveyed through the use of line, color and
shape
