Sessinio Elves

Galloping Gargoyles:
In the corridor, there are five incinerated cultists. Itabis is rushing down
the stairs to close the extradimensional space in the corridor.
Arya is going to cast ‘disguise self’ as a gorgeous human woman in a
red dress. “Anybody asking too many questions is always too distracted
by this form to pay attention to my answers.”
 Hand off yellow runes to Arya, and she says “Thank you, Greta.
We’re conducting the ritual in the sewers where you specified at
midnight tonight – when the moon reaches its zenith. Witness the
glorious coming of the infinite maze.”
 She will fly away at the soonest oppourtunity
Tables turned over, blood smeared up the walls.
Five dead cultists in the bar area – Some of them with acid burns all over
their body, some with missing limbs. One of them is sprouting some
kind of plant out of his chest.
Several dead mages, including the bartender, from slashes and burns.
Redcoats have set up a perimeter around the building, with crossbows
trained on the windows.
Sideris will tell them all to “Stand down. The business here is over. Your
skills are better put to use finding the remaining cultists, as well as the
escaped Demon Lord. Alert the high guard! Go!”
and to Itabis he says “The King in Yellow’s body has been destroyed. A
week ago things with the Dark Realms seemed peaceful. Now, a
confrontation between the lich himself and a band of mercenaries
working for the church? This can only mean one thing. War.
I will talk to my father. I sense troubled times are ahead if this war
doesn’t end quickly and decisively.”
Itabis recognizes Nour “You – you performed here the other day, did
you not?” / “Who would your father be? I recognize some hereditary
charm in your art. You are clearly of the Lluna de Ruah, but I sense that
is not all you are… Barkskin.”
“Your father used to play for me. Illornos played for all the women,
back in our days of youth. And a few men. He did have his type though,
and his type was humankind. I suspect you aren’t the only child who
does not know his father.”
“I knew him. I knew him well. Always a charmer, and always leaving
for some next adventure. Such a shame that he should not return from
his last.”
“Oh yes, Cordath the terrible. Two decades ago – maybe more, maybe
less, he came to Godenheim seeking yet more fame. The king told him
to fetch the head of Cordath the terrible. Truly, whoever defeats that
dragon, he said, would be the most highly-praised adventurer in the
realm. Second only to himself, the King, and Mother. Illornos could
never resist a challenge.”
---
Mother, over the comms, will say “Brief me immediately. What
happened?”
She wants to know exactly which books Gigi recovered and whether the
mind flayers devoured any brains.
“They did? This is most troubling. They have consumed your knowledge
of me. The Yellow King and his hive are now our most mortal enemy.
Rosengard will surely go to war with them, and my new sect militant
will too. It is crucial you sort out this demon business so we can get the
moonstone as soon as possible.”
In elaboration on the Yellow King – “If he commands Mind Flayers, he
must be one himself. It is something I have suspected for a long time,
that the evil housed under the Molanz tower is an Elder Brain – the
central processing unit for a hive of mind flayers. They work as a colony
of ants does, you see. All individuals are the appendages of one central
being, an Elder Brain.”
Sodzma using dreammist will reveal plan of Molanz and the KIY’s
chamber, sealed beneath hundreds of meters of the same obsidian the
tower is made of. The only way in is for the KIY to teleport you in.
Mother knows a way of killing him through hundreds of meters of
obsidian. (She has a way of killing everything within several kilometers
of the detonation)
----
The Redcoats are now looking for

- Swiftclaw
- Her employers (Ug’ra)
- Baphomet and the cultists
- Velociraptors
- Barry’s Revengers seem to be central to everything.

The Captain of the Guard is going to talk to Sideris:

“These marauders were caught up in some business with Swiftclaw just
yesterday. They seem to be central to all the darkest troubles of
Godenheim recently. What do you know about them?”
“Sideris says you helped eliminate a mighty threat to the people of
Rosengard today. For that, you are commended. Here, 100 gold apiece.
– he gestures to a squire who hands you seven cheques – Are we still a
go for the interception of Swiftclaw tonight? You look beat. You’ll be
no use like this. Rest up. We can put our best people on it and make sure
it is resolved.”
---
Guilder’s Square
The sun is setting now, and the city is awash with orange light.
The town crier is saying “Trouble At Galloping Gargoyles! Beast
Escaped! Stay in your homes!” He is being mostly ignored by the
crowds of people not in their homes. His next cry of “Ostriss Embassy
on lockdown, fortified!” is interrupted by…
A burst of fanfare from Godenheim’s main road – the road you came in
on – announces the arrival of a decadent silver carriage, bearing the
symbol of the Archantos mining guild.
“Hello brother! Good to see you, and I am glad you are here for this, my
proudest moment.” She climbs a ladder onto the roof of the cart and
addresses the gathering crowd
“Good people of Godenheim! I stand before you, the eldest of the
Archantos family, and now, proudly, the head of the Archontas
Mining Guild! Please, help yourself to some gold” – She points
towards a cart behind her, whose top springs open, revealing huge chests
of gold coins. Slight of hand rolls equate to that much gold x5.
“The future of the guild is one with a greater honour for the world
Mother placed us in, and for the souls who labour in our mines.
Nevertheless, the iron that fuels our great military and your homes
will be cheaper, thanks to a new mining system being designed in the
Rift, created to replace the previous system that was recently
demolished to make room for new expansion.”
Now, you can see a small procession moving along the bridge from the
Rosenfort. (Roll perception) It is the King, with his wife and his other
son, Remes.
“Aside from these announcements, I have come to Godenheim on
matters of the heart. I grew up alongside a wonderful man. We went
to school together, and he has recently come of age.
Remes Rosen, I am truly delighted that you have come to see me.
Spartak, King, you honour me with your presence. As do you,
Estoria, my Queen. It would be the greatest pleasure of my life to
ask your son’s hand in marriage. Join our houses, and through me,
the crown will prosper like never before. New discoveries of magic
elements deep in the rift herald a new age for the Archontas house.
With me by your side, Remes, this can be a new age for the whole of
Rosengard.
King, Queen, I would not make this proposal without a gift in your
honour. I won’t spoil the surprise for you, other than in saying that
it will arrive by ship to your private port in the Rosenfort tomorrow
morning.”
A perception roll will reveal the king, queen and Remes discussing the
proposal together. Remes seems happy, and excited.
Six high guard approach the carriage and say “Milady, allow us to escort
you over the bridge, to proceed further with this engagement.”

SWIFTCLAW BIT---
Sodzma’s books – he can read one in a short rest.
The High Purpose of the Inquisition of Ostriss
- Describes the drow in servitude to an elite illithid council, who
have been searching for their master for the past two thousand
years. The Elder Brain lies unhatched, waiting.
- It is crucial to gather as much arcane knowledge as possible until
the Central Mind, the Yellow King, is found.
- Knowledge is Sacred, and must be protected. Never redacted, but
never released from the secret libraries of Molanz.
The Finding of the Egg and Rotwulf’s Tomb. – Ovram Twainhorn
- Describes the voyages of a group of valiant inquisitors to the far
land of Zemandia. There, in the sweeping deserts, they found the
tomb of Rotwulf the Undying, a large stone-carved face built into
the side of the mountain. Behind it, they found a large trove of
treasures. His body was found here, preserved in a huge
sarcophagus. Amongst the gold, they found a dirty oil lantern.
- Ovram describes polishing the lantern, and releasing a Djinn, a
Genie – from whom he received three wishes.
- He spent the first on resolving the purpose of the Inquisition. “I
wish for a truth long-hidden. Where is the Yellow King?” He
asked.
“The Yellow King lies at the center of a circular valley not far
from here. Unhatched, he lies, in his dark moonstone egg, from
when he fell from the skies all those thousands of years ago.”
- He spent the second on empowering his master. “Give our King
form. Bestow life onto the Yellow King.”
“Very well,” said the Genie. “Rotwulf the undying searched for
decades for the Yellow King. He came close, but did not find him.
He also died. He will live again, his master moving through him.”
– With a shudder, Rotwulf’s sarcophagus fell open, revealing the
King in Yellow.
- Ovram pondered for some time on what else to ask from the Djinn.
While the rest of his inquisition troupe rushed to the aid of their
newly restored master, Ovram asked himself what he would truly
love. Ovram asked for a magic item. “The staff of Naru, Djinn. It
was lost to the rift, when he defeated the Demon Lord Baphomet.
Summon it here, I demand of you. Give me this gift for freeing
you.”
Maybe it was in his tone, or in the selfish nature of his request, but
the Djinn chose this moment to be devious. “Long have you
searched for objects of magic, Ovram Twainhorn. Objects for your
museum. Had you not released me, I’m sure I would be spending
eternity there myself. Well, now, for your impudence, I turn you
into one of your curiousities. Enjoy your new staff. A staff worthy
of Naru. Henceforth, any life born of your staff will contain the
wild magic you covet.”
- The rest of the book describes the Inquisition finding the fallen
moonstone egg with the help of the yellow king, and returning to
Molanz to put together a team to crack it open and recover the
brain inside.
- Finally, in the closing chapters, the writing changes to a different
hand. This one describes the importance of Ovram’s gift. How it
must be studied. How the information contained in him is more
important than his life, and how they plan to capture him and
extract the wild magic inside him
- The addendums describes his escape in the Dreki ships, and
several updates about leads pointing towards his current location.
The Citadel isn’t mentioned.
On the Subject of the Mind and its Destruction (Trapped. Opening
activates HUNGER OF HADAR for a minute, in a 20ft radius.)
- 1x charm person
- 1x dissonant whispers
- 1x suggestion
- 1x dominate beast
Conversions of rituals for different gods (Locked DC 15)
- Seriously high level magic, describes intricate rituals of
summoning, communicating with and binding gods to physical
forms. Furthermore, it describes how to convert these spells to
apply to other gods.
How to identify a mimic (Locked DC 12)
- This book is a mimic. Gives the reader advantage on investigation
checks against mimics.
Ostriss Embassy
Run by an Alhoon, with Jack serving as his second-in-command.
Currently fortified, an area of darkness around the upper floors, large
obsidian barricades manned by inquisition knights.
When the moonstone doesn’t come, Sofia is going to desperately try and
prove herself to the crown by going into the embassy to negotiate a
diplomatic solution. She wont leave. Mother watches all of this.
Loft District
The guards are all gone, there has been an attack on the Baler family
house, and their young ward, who they adopted just days before, has
been taken. No lives were lost. The Baler mother has told the story of
rescuing the child from a tiefling slaver.

Cult-run sewers
Dropping down from the canal leads to a sewer tunnel. Not-too distant
chanting can be heard. In the direction of the Gnetto, the path slopes
downwards a little steeply.
YOUNG FALSE HYDRA ATTACK HERE.
Roll perception. You can see, in the water, a reflection of something. It’s
tall, white and pale, with red streaks along its thin body. Its head is that
of a man, but with large deformities over the brow and around the
mouth. Its eyes are bloody holes, and it is singing. Curiously, you don’t
forget it when you look away from the reflection. Roll initiative.
As you get closer to the source of the chanting – which sounds eerily
similar to that which you heard at the center of the maze in Duna –
Sodzma, you notice arenel’s flask becoming warm… then hot, then to a
temperature that you sense would burn you badly if you weren’t a
tiefling.
You walk for maybe a half an hour before emerging out into what you
initially assume is a cavern, deep beneath the city. In the dim light, you
can make out that it is actually the confluence of several sewer tunnels –
a large circular chamber for maintenance and secret cult rituals. Some
rubble has fallen from the ceiling, providing convenient cover in front of
your entrance. From behind it, you can see…
Over the floor, sprinkled around the sewerage channels, is a familiar
pattern of ground sulfur. (draw hexagram) The sewer channels are
ablaze with red mist and fire. The flask is now throbbing with heat.
Anybody near Gigi can feel it emanating from him.

At the center of the room, in a puddle of red mist and flame, a large
stone door is hovering off the ground. Around it, the three yellow runes
glow with power. Arya stands, cloaked in red, a grin on her face, with a
knife to the throat of a child. Sodzma, you recognize this child as the
slave you freed.
To your left you can see three cultists, kneeling in worship, staring at
The other side of the room, where Baphomet, now sporting a huge
twisting mess of horns, is being groomed and decorated with gold thread
braided into her fur by two cult fanatics.
On the right, behind the door, you can see three more cultists. One is
beating on a drum, another is blowing into a high flute, and the third is
chanting in Abyssal.
Above you, from where the ceiling has caved in a little, a trickle of
moonlight is lighting up a patch on the floor. You see that as the moon
rises in the sky, the patch of light moves closer to the door.
- The cultists raise their voices, and Baphomet begins to bellow as
the moon reaches its zenith. Arya raises a (weapon of choice) and
brings it down across the child’s neck, turning him to face the
portal as arterial spray coats the door in blood.
- Baphomet rises to her feet and begins to move forward. The
moonlight glistens on the blood, and the door begins to swing
open. The chanting stops as the cultists stare in awe.
- Through the door, you can see a wide corridor that stretches on for
as far as you can see, lit by a sickly green otherworldly glow.
Standing in the corridor are two minotaurs that now step through
into the sewers.
- The two cult fanatics lead Baphomet through, muttering praises
under their breath. You see her disappear into the green darkness
of the infinite maze, and as you watch, the stone door grows into
two walls, either side of the portal. They begin to extend towards
the sewer exits. (They will branch and double back on themselves
from time to time)
- A terrifying roar echoes through the maze from across the door,
and Arenel’s flask explodes. Several feet of fire sprout out of the
stem, burning the cork to ash. The bowl end shatters, also releasing
a torrent of flame. The nearest person is attacked by it (1d10 + 1d8
fire if human). THIS ACTS AS A SUN BLADE, but is a spear
instead of a blade, and deals fire damage instead of radiance.
Its stats are that of the trident, but 1d10/1d8 thrown (hurls the
fire out of the tube of glass)
- The door begins to expand slowly to allow her through. A huge
furry appendage moves out of the door (can perform some of
Baphomet’s attacks). At a glance it seems like a large hand, then a
hoofed leg, then a horn covered in spines. It’s constantly shifting
between forms.
- When the door is closed, this appendage will withdraw a little, the
end being sliced off, leaving a horn of blasting.
- At some point, six velociraptors will charge in from the left tunnel.
They will attack the closest thing, but not Nour.
BUFF BAPHOMET A BIT
- When the fight is over, and looting is complete, a silent figure will
appear in the dying firelight. A tall shape, in studded black leather,
with two small horn-shaped stylings on the back of their mask.
- BREAK
- “Well well. I thought I was going to have to deal with some cultists
but it seems you’ve done it for me.
- I recognize you. Barry’s Revengers. The name’s gone around a
little.
- Come with me. The Grr’wack band will want to reward your work
here, and Ug’ra did tell me that you (Sodzma) were waiting for a
shipment of slaves. They have arrived.”
Cultists have some knowledge about the moonstone shipment, they’re
planning to sabotage it but their manpower is down.
Down the corridor towards the Dreki port, you can hear the sounds of
the slave ship unloading 3 tiefling women and 1 tiefling man (250-350gp
a piece. Negotiable) among other slaves
Talking to any officials wont get info on the unmarked ship.
The crewmen and captain will talk for a price:
- (They know exact numbers – 8 guns, 2 knights, 6 deckhands
(underpowered bandits) and a private cabin (kenku mage))
- Ship arriving at Rosenfort tomorrow at noon, entering the Goden
river at 10am

Refer to book for prepping for the heist.

Lottie selling her Mithral armour (plate) will get her 500gp’s worth of
goods and an oddity or two.
Ug’ra wants the ship for herself.
Mkel involved with GrrWack – can pick the locks “I get paid for this
these days haha”
Verethrine and Ona headed to Seawash. Grendle picking them up in the
white stagecoach, now with a large clockwork horse pulling it.
