Q1. Describe the organization and one product/service of said organization. Student

Ans: iDelta Electronic Services LLP is an Indian Premium and Authorized Reseller of Apple
Products in India. The foundation of iDelta Electronic Services LLP was placed to set up a
new milestone in customer service and store operations. With incessant efforts we've spread
our horizon across states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana having seven
stores and four service centers in Meerut, Lucknow, Dehradun, Faridabad, Ludhiana, and
Jalandhar.
The showrooms are designed with Apple's world-class standards, where they showcase and
demo the latest Apple products in India. We can expect a complete range of Apple products
and the highest level of customer service and care in every iDelta Apple store.
The product includes iPhone, iPad, Watch, Tv and accessories. One of the products described
below is iPhone 12.
It is A14 Bionic, the fastest chip in a smartphone. An edge-to-edge OLED display. Ceramic
Shield with four times better drops performance. And Night mode on every camera. iPhone
12 has it all — in two perfect sizes.

Q2. What and how the said organization forecast in order to do resource planning.
What kinds of inputs would likely require to forecasts in the said organization?
Ans: As we all know Apple is a worldwide leader in product development and design,
innovation, marketing, and branding.
There products range from iPhone, iPod, iWatch, iPad, OS, accessories etc. They sell their
products via their retail stores, online stores, third party cellular network carriers and retailers.
The supply chain model, inventory control and software systems make them one of the
leaders in supply chain market. Materials and components that Apple purchases from various
suppliers are shipped to China for assembly via air. Then from China, the products are
shipped directly to customers.
This is how iDelta forecast in order to do resource planning.
• R&D: Develop new technologies, licensing of IP
• Concept testing: Conduct product testing and market research, identify potential
quality defects
• Pre-Launch: Provide proper inventory, manage material purchase, launch quality
• Launch: Make demand forecast up to 150 days
• Quarterly review: Review inventory level, adjust demand of forecast, monitor current
sales level and component costs.
Apple forecasts the demands to determine the product quality it will manufacture. For this the
company uses consensus methods and conducts surveys (bottom-up approach) where
opinions drive final decision. This leads to innovations.
The potential demand rate of the products i.e., volume is estimated using tentative approaches
and consumer panels are used during early stages of manufacturing to assess future
performance of the products in the market. The inventory control department handles item
history and planning, handling, estimation, reorganization, after sale assessment of item
performance with the dealers.
Components like volume, sales, cost, and profit affect each decision they take in process map.
In R&D phase of product:
Forecasting the supply chain demand doesn’t only depend on what products the customers
would buy but also on what kind of technologies in the near future will be driving our
business products, enabling the company to lower down its cost with the suppliers so that
other competitors cannot order the components.
Sleek design with better performance than competitor’s product needs to be designed. Only
downside is the increase in the time and cost of patenting the technologies.
In order to maximize on profit, the company needs to know its potential market and
customers.
• Developing a powerful and well managed inventory control strategy helps the
company identify the best section of the market where it should sell its products.
• A well implemented inventory management strategy leads towards high rise in sales,
ratings, incomes and returns.
Q3: Comment upon the production process/ layout of the said organization
Ans: Apple’s Product Development Process may be one of the most successful design
processes ever implemented. With a valuation that exceeds $2 trillion, there’s a lot that
designers can learn from Apple and introduce into their own design environments. The idea is
to define what stages the product creation team will go through, who will be responsible for
delivering the final product, who works on which stage and where they work and also when
the product is expected to be completed.
Apple is a notoriously secretive business. In Steve Jobs’ time at the company it would have
been near impossible to find out about the internal workings of the business. This isn’t
surprising when a business’s market advantage is its design approach. It’s worth keeping it
under wraps.
1. A Documented Development Process: The Apple New Product Process (ANPP)
information is given to a product development team when they begin work. It details
every stage of the design process, and it goes into elaborate detail.
2. The EPM and the GSM: The EPM is the engineering program manager, and the
GSM is the global supply manager. Together they are known within Apple as the
“EPM Mafia”. It’s their job to take over when a product moves from design to
production.
3. Iteration Is Key: Like any good design company, the design process at Apple is not
over when manufacturing begins. In fact, Apple iterates the design throughout
manufacturing.
4. The Packaging Room: This is a very-high security area in Apple and it’s where
prototypes are unboxed. As you might expect, the security is to prevent leaks to the
outside world. If you ever do see a leaked prototype for an Apple product – it won’t
have come from here. It’s more likely to have vanished from a production line in
China.
5. A Launch Plan: The final step in Apple’s product development is product launch.
When the product is considered to be as good as it can be – it enters an action plan
known as “the Rules of the Road”.
6. The Takeaway: Apple’s process is complex, expensive, and demanding. If you
compare it to most business theories – it shouldn’t work. However, to date it has out-
performed even the wildest of expectations. You may not be able to emulate all of
their processes within the space of your own workplace but there’s no reason that you
can’t develop written processes for design phases and launch phases of your projects,
for example.

organization. Kindly consider the customers perspective while defining the
products/services Quality.
Ans: Here are some of the parameters describing the quality of the products of Apple.
Simply, because Apple doesn’t connect to the message of fulfilment of ‘Human needs’ only.
Apple seeks to go far and beyond than just fulfilling a human need. And it does convey that
message pretty successfully.
• The physical design of cases, covers, screen overlays, and camera attachments for iOS
devices.
• The specifications for hardware accessories that use the Bluetooth transport to
communicate with iOS devices and Mac computers.
• The design of AC power adapters, battery packs, and Qi wireless power transmitters
for iOS devices.
• The physical design of band accessories that are compatible with Apple Watch.
Apple stands for quality. That’s what makes them the most pop brand all over the world. That
said, “quality” to Apple means many things. It begins from the point of designing, to testing,
quality control, durability, style of the end product, price for the technology offered. Anyone
