Crochet 101

Magic Circle:
1. Make a loop so the working yarn goes over the yarn end.
2. Grab the join between your thumb and forefinger. Insert the hook through
the loop, grab the yarn and draw up a loop.
3. Yarn over and draw through the loop on the hook.
4. Pull the stitch tight. This does not count as the first single crochet stitch.
5. Start your first single crochet stitch. Insert the hook through the loop, yarn
over and draw up a loop.
6. Yarn over and draw through both loops on the hook, completing your first
single crochet stitch.
7. Continue crocheting through the loop and over the yarn tail until you have
six single crochet stitches.
8. Grab the yarn tail and pull the center tightly closed.
9. Great job! You can now continue with the second round.

With Red Wood Yarn:
1. 6 SC in a magic circle.
2. SCI around. [12 sc]
3. (SCI, SC) 6 times. [18 sc]
4. (SCI, 2 SC) 6 times. [24 sc]
5. (SCI, 3 SC) 6 times. [30 sc]
6. (SCI, 4 SC) 6 times. [36 sc]
7-13. SC around, for 7 rounds.
[36 sc per round]
14. (SCD, 4 SC) 6 times. [30 sc]
15. (SCD, 3 SC) 6 times. [24 sc]
16. (SCD, 2 SC) 6 times. [18 sc]

*Insert the safety eyes and attach the


washers. Please note that if you

*Stuff the body*

Instructions

Muzzle:
With White Yarn:
1. 6 SC in a magic circle.
2. (SCI, SC) 3 times. [9 sc]

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing,


x1 and SLST to finish off.

Nose:
With Black Yarn:
1. CH 2.
2. SC in 2nd chain from hook.

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing,


x1 and CH 1 to finish off.

Fur Patch:
With White Yarn:
The fur patch is a semicircle. It will
not be done in continuous rounds:
1. 3 SC in a magic circle.
2. Turn, CH 1, (SCI) 3 times. [6 sc]

x2 Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing,


and CH 1 to finish off.

Tail:
With Red Wood and Black Yarn:

Start with Black Yarn:


1. 6 SC in a magic circle. [6 sc]
2. SC around. [6 sc]

Change to Red Wood Yarn:


3-4. SC around, for 2 rounds.
[6 sc per round]

Change to Black Yarn:


5-6. SC around, for 2 rounds.
x1 [6 sc per round]

Change to Red Wood Yarn:


7-8. SC around, for 2 rounds.
[6 sc per round]

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing,


and SLST to finish off.

Assembly

Assembly:
1. Insert the safety eyes about 4 stitches apart. See the picture for reference.
2. Sew the Muzzle onto the Body below the eyes.
3. Sew the Nose onto the Muzzle.
4. Sew the Fur Patch onto the Body beside the eyes. See the picture for reference.
5. Sew the Ears onto the top of the Body.
6. Sew the Legs onto the Body. 2 on the sides and 2 near the bottom.
7. Sew the Tail onto the backside of the Body.
8. Use Black Yarn to embroider an ‘x’ shape on the backside of the Body, below
the Tail.

You’ve now completed your Red Panda!
