Absolute Encoder
As the shaft rotates, an absolute encoder generates unique code for each position.
By detecting the numerical changes of codes, the rotation direction and displacement
of the object can be determined without the need of a direction judgment circuit.
When power up, the absolute encoders do not require a home cycle and they can find the
absolute index signal accurately even if the shaft is rotated while the power is switched off.
Generally, the measuring range is 0°-360°, special models are available multi-turn measurement.
