Central tendencies

The central tendency is a descriptive overview of a dataset represented by a single


value that represents the data distribution's center. Central tendency is a subfield of
descriptive statistics that deals with the variability of a dataset. One of the most fundamental
notions in statistics is the central tendency. It does not provide information on individual
values in the dataset, but it does provide a thorough overview of the entire dataset. It consists
of mean, median and mode this lesson gives explanation on how to solve and get the mean,
median and mode.

This lesson is familiar to me because statistics was one of my subjects in grade 11, but
apart from all this, I have no recollection of how to solve it, which makes it difficult for me to
complete the assigned exercise, and I'm not sure if I completed it correctly or not. Along with
this problem many questions a rises in me, I may have had a misunderstanding about what
the mean, median, mode, and range figures actually reflect. I may understand the formulas
and how to generate these figures, but do I need to understand why these values are
important? I may believe that the mean, median, mode, and range are merely numbers that I
need to figure out. As I dig deeper into understanding the central tendency, I find it a good
practice in me to test my understanding on this that can't be explained to me hand in hand
because of the way we learn today, but this is just the beginning, and I know there are many
more lessons that are more difficult than this, so I start learning to understand the process,
and I find it a challenge to figure out on solving on my own and it’s not bad at all.

In any kind of lesson there could be so much challenges and misconceptions but as
long as you’re willing to help yourself and determined to confront the issue and conquer it.
Discover the outcome like central tendency it will always find a way to discover the correct
solution.
