Activity 1

1. Listen at least one example of music in every period discussed above and compare to our modern
music today. Elaborate your answer in not less than 50 words. 25points. *The older music was more
creative I think. The musicians played their own instruments(most of them) and worked hard at crafting
their sound. Most of the new music is computer generated and some of the lyrics to new music is
elementary while older music lyrics are more thought out and meaningful. New music seems to only
care about the beat which comes from pre-recorded beats from machines or computers. There are
some new bands that are doing it the old way and God Bless Them for trying. Don’t give up ! Music will
never be the same as it was and that’s too bad

2.Describe each artist and his work.

* One of the differences is that traditional music focuses on social function. It means that traditional
music supports a culture in which this music is played. It also reflects the characteristics of people on
that area. While the modern music focuses on how the music combined and integrated with a
technology.
