Outwitting the devil:

The Secret To Freedom and Success is a book by Napoleon Hill who was one of Americas great,
influential thinkers who continues to have enormous impact today.

The devil said ”I plant the seed of fear in the minds of people, and as these seeds germinate and grow,
through use, I control the space they occupy. The six most effective fears are the fear of poverty,
criticism, ill, health, loss of love, old age, and death. “

This book makes me realized who I am and what I can do, all summed up with one word ‘Trust’.
Failure is also a blessing in disguise because ‘there is a solution for every legitimate problem, no
matter how difficult the problem may seem.’

Hill tells us about his failures and battles with doubt and indecisiveness had hooked me. He talked
about the root of those constrained beliefs that keep us from building and achieving the success we
deserve. Drifting is the word that Hill has introduce to describe what might occur when we no longer
focus on our purpose. To me it means “going with the flow” or Lack of enthusiasm. Hill specified that
people who have definiteness of purpose, therefore know what they want to achieve and are focused
to be successful are non-drifters. He urges us to retain a definite purpose in everything that we do.
The habit of drifting can be broken if the victim has enough will power. Whatever the negative sides,
such as fear, anger, procrastination and jealousy, exist in human minds, they are only tools of the
devil to make human fall into his web.
We have to decide definitely what we want in life; then create a plan for attaining it and be willing to
sacrifice everything else, If necessary, rather than accept permanent defeat.

In ending of the book, Hill discusses the seven principles to outwit the devil in your life through
spiritual, mental, and physical freedom.

They are:

 Definiteness of purpose
 Mastery over self
 Learning from adversity
 Controlling environmental influence
 Time (giving permanency to positive rather than negative thought habits and developing
wisdom)
 Harmony (acting with definiteness of purpose to become the dominating influence in your own
mental, spiritual and physical environment
 Caution (thinking before you act)

Be definite in everything you do and never leave unfinished thoughts in the mind. Form the habit of
reaching definite decisions on all subjects.

All prayers bring that for which one prays. The person who got to prayer with definiteness of purpose
puts into motion the laws of nature. Which transmutes ones domination desires into physical
equivalent.

This book is not an average book for entrepreneurs. It is certainly not a book about writing a business
plan, but develops and trains oneself to take the steps that are necessary for success.

This book is for everyone.
