PPS Interna onal has developed Rigid overhead conductor Rail and its associated fi ngs with the highest quality
standards complying all the latest Interna onal standards.
Several metros in India are opera ng on 25KV AC trac on system on both viaduct and inside the underground
tunnels like Delhi Metro Rail Corpora on (DMRC) , Lucknow Metro Rail Corpora on (LMRC) etc.
To install 25KV AC flexible overhead catenary system (FOCS), tunnel has to be made quite large hence, to overcome
the problem of making large tunnels, Rigid Overhead Catenary System (ROCS) is the most commonly used method
of providing 25KV AC trac on system, in which no separate catenary wire is required, hence tunnel diameter can
be reduced.
Rigid overhead conductor rail with 107/150 mm² contact wire is used for the trac on system, which is capable of
taking large current upto 3500 Amp due to large cross sec on of conductor rails.

Conductor Rail
Conductor Rail is produced through extrusion
process and made out of special “Aluminum Alloy”,
having large conduc vity and elas city proper es.
Each Conductor rail is produced upto to 12 Meters of
length.
Conductor Rail Inter-Locking Joints
Interlocking joint is produced through extrusion
process with inner matching profile of conductor rail
and is used to join the conductor rail.

Support & Clamps
Depending upon the loca on, different types of
support are made.
Silicon insulator with creepage distance from 1050-
1600 mm is used as per customer requirement.
Transi on Element
To integrate the Rigid Overhead Catenary System with
the flexible OHE system, a transi on bar of 5-6 meter
is used.
Conductor rail is cut progressively in the direc on of
flexible OHE to reduce moment of iner a and to
match elas city with flexible OHE.

Electrical Connec on
Electrical connec ons are provided at per nent
loca ons on the conductor rail to feed electrical
supply through jumper wire / cable.
Earthing Clamp
Earthing clamps are provided at different places
throughout the ROCS enabling earthing equipment
to be a ached for maintenance purpose to discharge
the current.

Protec on Cover
To protect the rigid conductor rails from the
contaminated / polluted water dropping on it
through tunnel ceiling, a plas c protec on cover is
used.
Conductor Rail Interlocking joints can also be filled
with special silicon fillings, capable to withstand high
temperature.
An Creep
An creep clamps are provided to fix the movement
of conductor rails at the centre.

Sec on Insulator
Sec on insulator is made by ROCS itself by arranging the conductor rails in parallel overlap.
Neutral Sec on
Neutral Sec on is also made by installing conductor rails in parallel overlap.
