Term Paper on

E-commerce

Executive Summary
In a rising country like Bangladesh, information technology has played a critical role in the
future development of financial sectors and corporate practices. With the increased use of smart
mobile services and the internet as a new distribution channel for corporate transactions and
international trading, e-commerce security is becoming more important. In today's commercial
world, e-commerce is booming. Electronic commerce is referred to as e-commerce. Electronic
commerce (E-commerce) is a paradigm change that affects both marketers and customers. This
huge shift in business paradigm is gaining traction all across the world.

E-commerce has grown in popularity as a result of massive internet use, and entrepreneurs,
particularly start-ups are increasingly turning to this alternative as a distinct business strategy.
The purpose of this study is to present the current state of E-Commerce and to examine the
current developments in E-Commerce. The study goes on to look at the key factors that influence
the success of E-commerce business models.

Key Words: E-Commerce, Internet, Self-service, Technology, Internet banking. Customer

satisfaction, Business.

Introduction
In today's expanding economy, e-commerce is becoming increasingly popular. In 1995, e-
commerce was born. It necessitates the use of digital commodities in order to carry out
transactions. The term "digital goods" refers to products that can be distributed over the internet.
E-commerce will continue to change and flourish due to the expanding use of the Internet, tablet
devices, and smart phones, as well as increased consumer confidence. With technology like
augmented reality, online businesses are continuing to seek for greater content and a more
realistic buying experience. With the rise of mobile commerce, more people are making
purchases from the palm of their hands.

Objective of the study

The main objectives of the study are as follows:

1. To get a full acquaintance of the E-commerce in Bangladesh.

2. To identify the benefits of E-commerce.

3. To know the challenges in E-commerce.

4. To understand the present status and trends of E-Commerce.

5. To reveal the key variables influencing the increased usage of E-Commerce.

Research Methodology
The paper has been written on the basis of secondary data. The secondary data were collected
from published books, journals, research papers, magazines, daily newspaper, internet and
official statistical documents. The study is qualitative in nature.

Literature Review
The internet and e-commerce are heavily geared toward the developed world. However, if used
as an ideal business goal, they can provide enormous benefits to poor countries. Ecommerce is a
paradigm shift in business. Knowledge the constraints of e-commerce requires an understanding
of value exchange. There can be no business without a value exchange. Using Ecommerce
technologies to help developing countries should improve their situation, however this hasn't
happened yet. As a result, many people believe that e-banking and e-commerce are now an
unavoidable part of financial services. It allows multiple buyers and sellers to join together on a
same platform and do commerce without sacrificing individual criteria or ties between
participants. Electronic commerce is expanding worldwide economic prospects, such as in the
travel and tourist industry. It is difficult to transition from traditional business methods to
electronic commerce methods, and there are numerous factors that companies must consider
when doing so. E-commerce industries have increasingly become a necessary component of
business strategy and a powerful catalyst for economic development.

Findings and Analysis

This study fully reviewed past research on this topic in a similar setting, resulting in a solid
theoretical foundation for evaluating factors influencing E-commerce adoption in Bangladesh.
The sample size could not be increased due to time and money constraints, thus future studies on
E-commerce in Bangladesh should take it into account. The findings and analysis are:

1. Facebook generates and is dependent on the majority of e-commerce or internet business

in Bangladesh. However, Facebook only permits for the collection of basic information about
clients, such as their name and location.

2. For a payment, an e-commerce business that involves shopping outsources its door-to-door
delivery services to third parties. This procedure entails sending orders to a third party, who is
paid by the customers only after the delivery is done.

3. The issue with the third-party delivery method is that third-party payments are constantly
delayed from their end. This adds to the already existent cash flow problems that e-commerce
businesses are experiencing.

4. The industry as a whole lacks investment and qualified human resources, particularly in
officer roles, which need people to have finished at least a graduate level of study.

Conclusion
A rising number of businesses in a variety of areas, including banking, education, commerce, and
tourism, have improved their services by integrating technology into their service delivery
processes. Although social media has been a boon for brands and marketers looking to reach
target buyers without spending a lot of money on traditional media, luxury brands have recently
found it difficult as unauthorized sellers have cropped up on platforms like Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, and WhatsApp, luring buyers with discounts of up to 50%-70 percent. Most E-
commerce organizations have contact centers to contact with customers; however, there is a
compelling need to establish call centers that only interact with merchants, since growing the
number of sellers in a marketplace becomes the next battleground in E-Commerce. Call centers
should be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. E-commerce is a benefit for any country;
with the correct push and a conducive climate, it may considerably contribute to a country's
prosperity and development.

Recommendation
1 .Outsourcing will become a key as delivery focused services would develop value in scale.
Develop structures on augmenting internal logistics capacity with outside firms to improve
supply chain.

2. Fulfillment centers at strategic points to augment turnaround time will allow businesses to
effectively increase delivery quality and diminish time. (e.g. Meena Bazar can utilize their super
shops at different areas to supply products effectively).

3. Integrate order tracking systems will result in higher customer satisfaction and better business
management. Cost effective GPS technologies can be easily integrated that allows both the
business and the customer to track orders and thereby manage time better.

4. Packaging Innovations will also play a key role especially for perishable goods and food
items. Businesses need to ensure that quality of the product is not compromised.
