(c) Push the '>' adjacent to the related CFDS failure message:
- The MCDU menu shows:
OIL FILTER SWITCH SHOWS ELECTRICAL GROUND
- Do the Fault Confirmation that follows:
1 Start the APU Ref. AMM 49-00-00-860-008.
2 Get access to the APU GND SCANNING menu.
3 Shut down the APU Ref. AMM 49-00-00-860-009

4. Fault Isolation
SUBTASK 49-90-00-810-056-B
A. If the APU GND SCANNING menu gives the maintenance message OIL FILTER SWITCHES (8070KM)
/(8071KM) associated with fault code number 101:
(1) Do a check for damage/contamination of electrical connectors P9 and P5 of the OIL FILTER
SWITCHES (8070KM)/(8071KM).
(a) If electrical connector(s) P9 or/and P5 is/are damaged, repair it/them.
(b) If you find contamination on electrical connector(s) P9 or/and P5, clean it/them.
(c) If the electrical connectors are serviceable:
1 Remove connectors P5 and P9 from the APU.
2 With the APU off, do a continuity test between pins 1 and 2 at the filter DP switches.
a If the measured value is more than 10 kOhm, continue the troubleshooting
procedure.
b If the measured value is less than 10 kOhm:
- Replace the OIL FILTER PRESSURE-SWITCH (8070KM) or the OIL
FILTER PRESSURE-SWITCH (8071KM) Ref. AMM 49-91-14-000-002
and Ref. AMM 49-91-14-400-002.
- Do a second continuity test between pins 1 and 2 at the filter DP
switches.
- If the measured value is more than 10 kOhm, continue the
troubleshooting procedure.
3 With the APU off, do a continuity test from pin 1 to the switch case at the filter DP
switches.
a If the measured value is more than 10 kOhm, continue the troubleshooting
procedure.
b If the measured value is less than 10 kOhm:

Replace the OIL FILTER PRESSURE-SWITCH (8070KM) or the OIL

FILTER PRESSURE-SWITCH (8071KM) Ref. AMM 49-91-14-000-002
and Ref. AMM 49-91-14-400-002.
- Do a second continuity test from pin 1 to the switch case at the filter
DP switches.
- If the measured value is more than 10 kOhm, continue the
troubleshooting procedure.
4 Do the check that follows:
a Make sure that the oil temperature is less than 80 deg.F (26.67 deg.C).
b Start the APU Ref. AMM 49-00-00-860-008.
c Monitor the DP switches with a MULTIMETER - STANDARD while the oil
temperature increases:
- Do a check to know if one or two of the switches close during or after
the start.

NOTE: The closed switch is given as less than 30 Ohm.

- Monitor APU Toil until the temperature is more than 100 deg.F (37.78
deg.C).

NOTE: To increase the APU oil temperature faster, you can apply an
electrical load to the APU.
NOTE: The AIDS can give the APU Toil on the ECAM with the "OTA" code.
- Wait until the APU oil temperature is more than 100 deg.F (37.78 deg.
C) and do a check to make sure that the two DP switches are open.
(2) If no problem occurs during this procedure, do a check of the APU wiring harness as follows:
(a) Install connectors P5 and P9.
(b) Remove connector P1 at the APU compartment bulkhead.
(c) Do a continuity test between pins 4 and 9 at the firewall.
1 No continuity is permitted.
(d) Do a continuity test between pin 9 and the structural ground.
1 No continuity is permitted.
(e) Bend the wires near the plugs to do a test for intermittent short-circuits.
(3) If no problem occurs during this procedure, do a check of the aircraft wiring harness as follows:
(a) Install connector P1 at the APU compartment bulkhead.
(b) Remove the ECB Ref. AMM 49-61-34-000-003.
(c) Do a continuity test from pin 11C to the structural ground.
1 No continuity is permitted.
(d) Bend the wires near the plugs to do a test for intermittent short-circuits.
