1 Ambahan is a rhythmic poetry phrase with seven syllable meters and end syllables rhythmic. It is also
most frequently presented as a chant without a set pitch or accompaniment to musical instruments, and
is designed to communicate, generously with the use of poetic language, specific events or certain
features that are described in the poem.
The Ambahan is historically sung and can cover a wide range of subjects, including romance,
providing guidance to the young, requesting a place to stay, and bidding farewell to a friend.

2 Epic Chant are usually sung during folk festivals and leisure activities, such as weddings, baptisms,
wakes, prestigious rituals, peace deals and the like. They are mostly sung as amusement, but can also
motivate the young people in imitating their idols. Some forms of Hudhud's songs are used in certain
communities, like the Ifugao, for some event, as when ancestral bones are excavated to be blessed, or
during harvests such as Hudhud hi Aliguyon, for instance, while a notable person is dying. The Palawan
Kudaman is sung also on special occasions - as an offer of catching a wild boar to the Lord of the Chase
or a visitor in their Rurungan.

living Treasures?
__Pioneers of the national artist in producing an expressive mood in which the work is important and important
to generate effect by its own fashion or style and to inspire future generations. They should always be the one
who shows greatness. Many of them have been nominated as national artists. While GAMABA awardees are
