Procedure on Covid 19 Patient Management
1. Contact tracing of symptomatic patients and asymptomatic patients with exposure to
known covid 19 confirmed case.
2. Assessment of the Disease Surveillance Officer of the confirmed patients and
contact of the confirmed patients.
3. Lock down of the afftected area.
4. Food supply, vitamins, medicines and hygiene kits are being given to the affected
families.
5. Advise proper isolation technique and 14 days quarantine while waiting for the
schedule of swab testing.
6. RT-PCR Swab testing or antigen testing done to 16 years old and above,
symptomatic patients and asymptomatic patients with exposure to known covid 19
confirmed case
7. Referral System:
a. For confirmed patients without symptoms – referred to an isolation facility through
OPLAN Kalinga. (Note: This rule applies before the Taal Volcano Eruption)
a.1 For confirmed patients without symptoms – the patients were isolated in a
room or a house. (The Isolation Facilities was affected by Taal Volcano Eruption)
b. For confirmed patients with mild symptoms – referred to the Municipal Health
Officer or private physician for telemedicine consultation.
c. For confirmed patients with moderate symptoms – referred to Malainin Isolation
Facility through the Provincial Health Office
d. For confirmed patients with severe symptoms – referred to a government hospital
or a private hospital.
8. Daily Monitoring of the patient through phone call.
9. Completion of 14 days quarantine at home after discharge from a hospital or
isolation facility.
10. The patient is being declared as recovered after completion of 14 days quarantine
without symptoms. If the patient’s re-swab result was still positive, the quarantine
period was extended for another 7 days.
