Learning Task No 2. EVALUATING SCENARIOS
1. May kakaiba
Reason: King Solomon wrote, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses
of an enemy.” If Selma truly values her friend, she will never condone such inappropriate actions
or worse, support those inappropriate behaviors. For this reason, I firmly believe that the
situation is wrong for me.
2. May kakaiba
Reason: The project is also profoundly “insensitive” and ill-timed given the global pandemic
we’re still battling. To truly rehabilitate Manila Bay, it’s much better for government to, say,
drastically reduce pollutants at their sources and to protect mangrove areas. The government
has been sending the wrong message when it had said there are no funds left to assist families,
frontliners, and vulnerable sectors, yet the Manila Bay rehabilitation is proceeding.
3. May kakaiba
Reason: Some would argue that the ends justify the means; utilize whatever tactics are required
to pass, even if the tactics are immoral, unfair or unjust. However, compromising ideals just to
avoid the consequences of her actions makes her selfish and self-absorbed. Furthermore,
cheating doesn’t guarantee that she will pass, it could end up with her failing along with the
burden of cheating.
4. May kakaiba
Reason: She should’ve followed the directives because without the ability to obey given
rules/instructions, many unnecessary or unwarranted side effects may occur. This is a basic
condition of not only a professional and learning environment, but also of everyday life.
5. Tama
Reason: Penal colony is established for punishing criminals by forced labor and isolation from
society which withdraws his freedom in a certain extent. He demands to regain his freedom
despite not fully serving his sentence for the reason that he has an illness. Given that there are
alternative measures to ensure his well-being without compromising the regulations, his
reasoning is considered invalid. Therefore, the actions of Gladys are appropriate.
6. Tama
Reasons: He did the right thing to avoid being accused of professional negligence or when a
professional fails to perform their responsibilities to the required standard or breaches a duty of
care. Avoiding this poor conduct subsequently prevents financial loss, physical damage or injury
of their client or customer.
7. Tama
Reasons: There has to be an incentive to create. Non-monetary incentives, don't feed people
unfortunately. In order to possess something, we need to buy it. Buying means a fair
transaction. If it's not a transaction, then the giver can always take back what was his. This is a
recipe for conflict. In such a society physical strength, political and social power, etc. will just
become substitutes for the economic power we want to eliminate.
8. May kakaiba
Reasons: Having strong supportive relationships is known to provide emotional help during
stressful times, reduce stress, increase life span and give greater levels of happiness. It is
important to have a number of people in an individual's life that can give support. However,
doing the opposite only harms his partner. His feelings are valid, nonetheless, his actions should
manifest how he values their relationship.
9. May Kakaiba
I was not able to deduce as to why Rency denied the request. Given that there is no valid
justification for his action, Rency’s action is inappropriate. Be that as it may since Rency is
trustworthy and keen he may also done it for a reason.
10. May kakaiba
Not only they have no rights as employees when they work 'under the table', and they may be
substantially underpaid and taken advantage of, in terms of working conditions and
expectations it is also ethically unacceptable. Such work can expose them to legal and tax
problems, as a result of not reporting income earned.

2. Higher salary in the future. 5. It is quite boring.
3. Financial stability. 6. It is hard to enjoy.
Learning Task No. 4: PROCESSING
1. There is a saying, every coin has two sides. Like the coin, every circumstance has two sides,
positive or negative. We should know about both aspects before taking any decision. When I am
taking any decision in life there are two possibilities, first is everything goes according to our
plan and we succeed. Second, if something goes wrong and I fail. In the first case, I should have
complete knowledge about the position where we want to reach. Like what are the good and
bad elements of that. In the second case, we should be ready with plan B. If anything goes
wrong then what will be its consequences and how will we gonna handle that. Sometimes one
decision can change your life completely. So I think wisely before taking any decision.
2. I consider the following characteristics: An appropriate decision frame, Clear values to adhere to
and objectives you are trying to accomplish, Creative alternatives to choose from, Good
information, Clear tradeoffs and sound reasoning, Choice alignment with values and objectives,
and Committed implementation.
3. I made a bad decision If I exhibit the following signs: I am desperate, It's not a nice feeling being
stuck at a task I hate, where you feel undervalued and overworked, I am not motivated by the
right things, I need to talk myself into it, and I am letting emotions cloud my judgement.
4. In our actual society, people are freer to make their own choices than we were before, but there
is always a cost if we want to transgress rules that the society has set. Moreover, people that
are close to us, such as our parents and friends, often limit the choices that we can have in our
life.
5. I would say I made the best decision if it is made deliberately and thoughtfully, considers and
includes all relevant factors, is consistent with the individual's philosophy and values, and can be
explained clearly to significant others.

What I Have Learned
Learning task No. 6: SOLVE THE TROLLEY PROBLEM
Assuming there that this is a standard trolley problem without any intervening variables, I would not pull
the lever. I believe that by not pulling the lever, you aren’t causing deaths by inaction, but simply letting
fate play out. You aren’t choosing to save anybody. You aren’t choosing anything but indecision. You are
allowing what will happen without you to happen, and therefore you are removing yourself from the
situation. Due to Subjective relative value of life there is no problem to be solved here except the core
problem of why someone would create such an artificial problem in the first place. Morality is an ideal,
which must be evaluated in terms of continuous, ongoing behavior, not in terms of instantaneous,
momentary action. For instance, in the trolley problem what matters from a moral perspective is not
whether or not one pulls the lever. What matters is how those people came to be tied to the tracks in
the first place, how the person who tied them there can be brought to justice, and how a similar
situation can be prevented in the future. Whoever set up the dilemma by tying six different people to
trolley tracks is to blame for any deaths that ensue, not the person standing by the lever in that moment
of choice. That person will obviously have a choice to make, granted, but that person is not responsible
for the outcome; h’er moral burden is merely to make whatever choice seems best from h’er subjective,
harm-reduction perspective, and leave the greater moral burden on the shoulders of the person who
created the situation in the first place.
Process questions:
1. There was freedom, however, it is limited to two choices which restricts my freedom to try
alternatives that would bring better results.
2. I believe that by not pulling the lever, you aren’t causing deaths by inaction, but simply letting
fate play out. You aren’t choosing to save anybody. You aren’t choosing anything but indecision.
You are allowing what will happen without you to happen, and therefore you are removing
yourself from the situation.
3. Yes, because it is similar to deontological perspective which asserts that certain actions such as
killing an innocent person are just wrong, even if they have good consequences.
4. No, practical choice is similar to a utilitarian perspective that dictates that most appropriate
action is the one that achieves the greatest good for the greatest number.
5. My decision is based on my understanding that the moral decision should lie in the mesotes of
two extremes which in this case is action and inaction. My decision was not to decide because I
cannot consider that a life is greater than the other since the values of our lives are not
quantifiable.
1.
a. I fully understand that I am duty-bound by attorney-client privilege to protect your client's
statements and to provide a proper legal defense. However, in the spirit of justice I file it
morally correct to tell the honorable court what the accused revealed to me before he
learned that the victim is my spouse. I will present my objective evidence that will
corroborate with my statement.
b. I will classify my choice as intellectual.
c. The cost of my decision will be our friendship.
2.
a. I will try to mediate on their differences so they would be able to come up with an amicable
settlement.
b. I will classify my choice as practical.
c. The cost of my decision could be my friendship with my kumpadre.
3.
a. With that particular incident, I am duty-bound to make a moral decision. With all the
attending circumstances, still I will do my moral duty in accordance with the moral
commands.
b. I will classify my choice as intellectual.
c. The cost of my decision will be the safety of my family.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Ah Chong may be held accountable for his action because he acted based on his instincts or
impulses. He failed to use his rational will in his actions. His action was not morally upright. Moral
uprightness requires courage. Moral uprightness requires that if you are going to take a life, the least
you can do is identify your target.
